I have a weird question... have you ever met someone in one of these places who's supposed to be dead? Or... I guess, are you? How do you know?

I believe death is a universal concept; If that is so, and it is inevitable, it is not surprising many have died. That they are taken is no different from those alive, if not less surprising, for the world has seen many more dead then are now alive.

I meant, why are people always coming back? Death is usually final where I'm from.

Death is not final. Though the corporal body decays and is reduced to aether, the spirit endures and returns to the lifestream.

I do not believe any soul could be destroyed in full. Even if mere fragments remain, the rest exists.

Even if that's true, it doesn't mean anything for the people who are left behind.

It means they might meet again. I have seen where the dead souls of my world go, and heard the words of the Mothercrystal.

No. I try to avoid it.

Then why would you believe such sadness, when you speak with the already dead? Hope is no foolish endeavour.

[ that does leave her a bit at a loss for words. this is a complicated subject and she's regretting bringing it up at all. she's not a fan of having her worldview challenged, in general, but when she speaks it's mostly just... withdrawn ]

Those who believe such only bring foolishness upon themselves, for one always hopes - the smallest dream exists in mankind against any odds. The only true death is to have none at all, and I have met no living man who does not possess a sliver of it - even if it is only to have a meal they like once again, or a cool breeze to stand in.
