1st Shuffle
Who: Remy LeBeau and open
Broadcast: Fleetwide video
Action: on the Marsiva
When: 4th October
[For those paying attention to the feed going out from the Marsiva they would see a new arrival waking up, moving around the bunk areas and into the other rooms as he became more aware of his surroundings. It was several minutes of scanning the available areas, checking his winter attire clothing for his possessions, and just making sure he had all his limbs and a pulse, Remy moved into the Hospitality Deck.
A few moments of curious button pushing and tinkering with items in the room brought his attention to what he guessed as some sort of communication system. It was here any new viewers or those that had stuck around would find him. His coat that he had woken wearing was now draped neatly over the seat next to him, the long sleeves of his shirt rolled up to his elbows as he lit a cigarette with a charge of his powers.
He had found the mostly full packet of cigarettes still stowed safely away in his coat, along with his cards and a few other items (no bo staff or knives though), and Remy inhaled deeply before moving to hold it between his fingers and looking directly at what he was pretty sure was the camera before letting out a stream of smoke from between his lips.]
So, comin’ to one of two conclusions. One, I have the feelin’ ‘ve just fallen deeper down the rabbit hole, not that I thought that was possible, or two… ‘m dead. ‘nd if I am, gotta say, hell be a lot cooler than I thought it would be, ‘nd lot less painful ‘nd less demony. So this might be purgatory. Knew I should had paid more attention in church as a kid.
[A pause as he rubbed his thumb against an eyebrow, pushing back any real concern or worry until he knew what the hell was happening.] Ah, ‘ssumin’ ‘m not just talkin’ to m’self, ‘m Remy LeBeau, ya might know me as Gambit, or not. Uh… hi, I guess.

[Religious matters aside, the enjoyment of good food and drink was certainly something Remy could associate with, both the having of and the lack of it.] Really? Ya should think of complainin' to management then if they need to up their service. 'nd I like beer as much as the next homme, but more of a liquor man m'self... in both sense of the word.
video;
Tried complaining. Doesn't do anything. They're about as attentive and caring as a kid with a bug in a jar.
If you like the heavy stuff, you're in luck. That's about all I have. I'm opening a bar here soon... right after I finish decorating. [More like stealing furniture.] Hope you like whiskey.
video;
Guess gotta get use to havin' money again. Last place was at had no currency, which ya think would be great, but mon Dieu a week or two with free alcohol, 'm surprised my liver survived it.
video;
Oh, man. You didn't have money? How the hell did you survive? Oh, Maker. I bet you bartered for everything. [He shudders visibly. Maybe he's a bit overdramatic... but that's sort of his thing.] I couldn't do it, it's too much like actual work.
video;
Non, non, everything there was free. Housin', food, drink, clothin', didn't need to pay for 'nything. Made poker really borin' 'nd no one wanted to play the strip version of it.
video;
I'm a businessman. If money didn't exist, I would be out of a job. Literally. [He rubs at his scruffy chin.] Shit, not even strip poker? Were you living in a church or something?
video;
'nd oui, it put me out of work while I was there. Got to at least do some missions to scratch the itch, but... not the same. [If it had been for a cause he actually backed then Remy could had gone on without the feeling he needed to be compensated. He didn't get anything out of any of his infiltration missions other than keeping his skills toned and getting out of the giant dome the town had been imprisoned in.]

[He raises his eyebrows and grins.]
Varric Tethras, by the way. Businessman and storyteller. Here's my number if you need something. [Boop.]

I donno 'bout work just yet, rather make friends here than enemies, 'nd my line of work typically does that. Not many like havin' a thief 'round the place, for some reason they see us as untrustworthy. [Ah, why hide it? Remy doubted he was going to need to do any of his normal work around this place, let alone with those he was suppose to play nice with.
Now against others and these planets others have talked about, that was a different situation.]

I hope we don't see the dust moon twice. I uh, procured a lot of furniture from their taverns.

How big are we talkin' with said furniture, 'cause that all depends on how 'mpressive upliftin' it would be. I mean, if ya just takin' a potted plant or table lamp, then I can't say 'm overwhelmed with ya skill. Now, say a table or two, the bar itself, maybe some light fixtures, now we talkin' something else. Bonus points if ya did it while it was open 'nd with people around.

It's impressive how fast people will clear a dive when you flash a fancy badge.

'nd bonus points for gettin' creative with the misdirection.
