1st Shuffle
Who: Remy LeBeau and open
Broadcast: Fleetwide video
Action: on the Marsiva
When: 4th October
[For those paying attention to the feed going out from the Marsiva they would see a new arrival waking up, moving around the bunk areas and into the other rooms as he became more aware of his surroundings. It was several minutes of scanning the available areas, checking his winter attire clothing for his possessions, and just making sure he had all his limbs and a pulse, Remy moved into the Hospitality Deck.
A few moments of curious button pushing and tinkering with items in the room brought his attention to what he guessed as some sort of communication system. It was here any new viewers or those that had stuck around would find him. His coat that he had woken wearing was now draped neatly over the seat next to him, the long sleeves of his shirt rolled up to his elbows as he lit a cigarette with a charge of his powers.
He had found the mostly full packet of cigarettes still stowed safely away in his coat, along with his cards and a few other items (no bo staff or knives though), and Remy inhaled deeply before moving to hold it between his fingers and looking directly at what he was pretty sure was the camera before letting out a stream of smoke from between his lips.]
So, comin’ to one of two conclusions. One, I have the feelin’ ‘ve just fallen deeper down the rabbit hole, not that I thought that was possible, or two… ‘m dead. ‘nd if I am, gotta say, hell be a lot cooler than I thought it would be, ‘nd lot less painful ‘nd less demony. So this might be purgatory. Knew I should had paid more attention in church as a kid.
[A pause as he rubbed his thumb against an eyebrow, pushing back any real concern or worry until he knew what the hell was happening.] Ah, ‘ssumin’ ‘m not just talkin’ to m’self, ‘m Remy LeBeau, ya might know me as Gambit, or not. Uh… hi, I guess.

Rogue makes a little frustrated sound and throws down the communicator. She's tempted to go bang her head against the wall a few times, too. It's not that it's Gambit in particular - she's always come to an understanding with any particular version of him she's met, could always trust him at her back when it came to a fight -- those things were all great.
It was just... after Kurt, Rogue was wary. What if this was a Gambit from home, with no previous experience in places like this? What if he was from before he'd kidnapped her? Or just after, all smug and unbearable about it - again.
What if he was from Luceti, but was an earlier one? Or even a later one, for all she know?
...well, obviously, what-ifs were not going to help her get any sleep that night.
...
...
Crap, what did she even call him?]
Ya ain't in purgatory. [...just. not going to call him anything. XD?] Though ya might wish ya were, if ya burn through all your cigarettes 'fore ya can get planet side.
[ video ]
This had to be the Rogue he knew, right? She was old enough to be that one, the one from Luceti rather than the angry teen from Bayville, but that still didn't mean she would know him. Aliens had a way of wiping minds and all sorts of merde they liked to play tricks with. But it was worth the risk to assume it was her.]
So... what kinda shift be this then? Thought a loss of wings means it be game over for us, or they turnin' back the clocks again without tellin' us? Not that 'm complainin' if it's permanent, would be nice to lose the need for holes in the back of shirts.
[ video ]
She never thought she'd be this happy to see you, Remy LeBeau. No matter what version of you you are. Just the fact that she wouldn't have to go over it from the beginning...
She returns his smile briefly, relieved.]
It ain't a shift. Near as I can tell, we just woke up someplace new. Look: [And she flips the video on the communicator around -- yes, she appears to be in an old west town, and her horse sure does have zebra stripes.] Crazy thing is, we're not the only ones who came from a place like this before - we just got picked up out of Luceti an' put... here.

Trust me, if there's one thing Hell isn't, it's cool. They have really shitty technology, too. This sort of thing is far beyond the scope of their imagination.
Bureaucrats, you know?
Video
Then if this be heaven, 'nd highly doubt I would be there, they must of had budget cuts 'cause I saw no pearly gates on m' way in.
Video
[That came in long after he got kicked out, but Aziraphale has told him about it. It was about as thrilling as watching paint dry. ]
This is just a regular old reality TV show, set in space.

There's nothing religious about this place. It's not bad, but it could definitely use better food. And more beer.
video;
[Religious matters aside, the enjoyment of good food and drink was certainly something Remy could associate with, both the having of and the lack of it.] Really? Ya should think of complainin' to management then if they need to up their service. 'nd I like beer as much as the next homme, but more of a liquor man m'self... in both sense of the word.
video;
Tried complaining. Doesn't do anything. They're about as attentive and caring as a kid with a bug in a jar.
If you like the heavy stuff, you're in luck. That's about all I have. I'm opening a bar here soon... right after I finish decorating. [More like stealing furniture.] Hope you like whiskey.

Good ear ya have there, from N'Orleans to be exact, nice to meet ya.

Hi Remy LeBeau who also gets called Gambit! I'm Wrath! Which name do you like better?
And obviously you're not dead 'cause you're here. I know I'm not dead. I'm pretty sure everyone else isn't dead too. So you probably got better. The med tech's pretty fucking good.
[Video]
And he was also rather amused by the ball of energy that was talking to him. Her wording and enthusiasm caused Remy to gain a slow smile, chuckling softly as he waited for her to finish talking from either a need to breath or from finishing up her thoughts.] Bonjour Wrath, let's go with Remy, hein? Gambit normally left for when 'm workin' or for people tryin' to cause me harm, 'nd hopin' to make friends here, not 'nemies.
'nd merci for establishin' the lack of death, much appreciated.
Re: [Video]
A lot of people who showed up in Proles kind of worried about that too. Like, I don't know what would happen if you could leave here, but no one dropped dead back home, so I don't think it'd be different here.

Pretty sure it's more of the former, but space is pretty terrible, so it could probably feel like the latter.
video;
Take it ain't to ya tastes then, non? Rather something a bit more solid under foot?
video;
[ But he's right, that wasn't very helpful. So: ]
Has anyone explained the whole reality show thing, yet?

Unfortunately, you're probably alive. Seems like you've got some explanations on that front already, though.
[video]
Oui, between what some of the others be sayin' 'nd this, [The word came to mind as Remy thought of the object behind his left ear.] Augment, 'm kinda gettin' the over all picture, but 'm never one to turn down free advice is someone be offerin' it. That just plain rude, 'nd never know when ya'll need it.
[video]
Anyway, for a more detailed introduction, I've been kind of working on a... sort of introduction guide, of sorts. Take a look.
[And with that, she'll be sending a document over to his comm.]

No. No way. Nightcrawler and now HIM? His all-time favorite X-Men? This kid's jaw is wide open until he finally remembers to speak (which, frankly, also takes him another few seconds, because he's poking his screen).]
Hang on a sec. Did you just say your name was Gambit? Like... potentially... the guy who might fight crime sometimes Gambit?

It's you!
[Then he gives himself a moment to calm down and tries to add on, less shellshocked.]
W-well, if you did pay attention in church, th-that would probably be the least of the differences!
[Video]
O gentle Heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls in Purgatory, have mercy on them.
Be not severe in Your judgments, but let some drops of Your Precious Blood fall upon the devouring flames.
And, Merciful Savior, send Your angels to conduct them to a place of refreshment, light and peace.
Amen.
How's that for ya Bleu?
