[For those paying attention to the feed going out from the Marsiva they would see a new arrival waking up, moving around the bunk areas and into the other rooms as he became more aware of his surroundings. It was several minutes of scanning the available areas, checking his winter attire clothing for his possessions, and just making sure he had all his limbs and a pulse, Remy moved into the Hospitality Deck.

A few moments of curious button pushing and tinkering with items in the room brought his attention to what he guessed as some sort of communication system. It was here any new viewers or those that had stuck around would find him. His coat that he had woken wearing was now draped neatly over the seat next to him, the long sleeves of his shirt rolled up to his elbows as he lit a cigarette with a charge of his powers.

He had found the mostly full packet of cigarettes still stowed safely away in his coat, along with his cards and a few other items (no bo staff or knives though), and Remy inhaled deeply before moving to hold it between his fingers and looking directly at what he was pretty sure was the camera before letting out a stream of smoke from between his lips.]

So, comin’ to one of two conclusions. One, I have the feelin’ ‘ve just fallen deeper down the rabbit hole, not that I thought that was possible, or two… ‘m dead. ‘nd if I am, gotta say, hell be a lot cooler than I thought it would be, ‘nd lot less painful ‘nd less demony. So this might be purgatory. Knew I should had paid more attention in church as a kid.

[A pause as he rubbed his thumb against an eyebrow, pushing back any real concern or worry until he knew what the hell was happening.] Ah, ‘ssumin’ ‘m not just talkin’ to m’self, ‘m Remy LeBeau, ya might know me as Gambit, or not. Uh… hi, I guess.

[This isn't who he thinks it is, is it...? Shawn squints a little at the screen, quiet for a few seconds as he tries to process this and--

No. No way. Nightcrawler and now HIM? His all-time favorite X-Men? This kid's jaw is wide open until he finally remembers to speak (which, frankly, also takes him another few seconds, because he's poking his screen).]

Hang on a sec. Did you just say your name was Gambit? Like... potentially... the guy who might fight crime sometimes Gambit?

'Fight crime' not really be part of m' normal line of work, but know a team of goodie-goods who be more 'nto that kinda thing. Even have their own brand, if ya willin' to have a giant X stamped on everything ya wear. I prefer to stay more out of the limelight than what they get.

I can't blame you, man.

[This is officially the best day ever. Best week ever, even!! Shawn couldn't grin wider if he tried - and okay, he might let out a small (almost inaudible) gasp, trying to muffle it with his hands.] I've heard about those people with the giant X, which is kinda why I asked. Nothing big, just like, stuff on TV sometimes.

I'm Shawn, by the way. Looks like other people've told you we're not really dead, but lemme tell you - enjoy the food there while you can. It doesn't get a whole lot better.

Bonjour Shawn, [Now Remy was casting a look at Shawn, amused all the same, but still as if he was trying to work out what was going on in his head. That reaction, well, it was pretty damn close to Remy's own the first time he talked to Captain Kirk in Luceti, but he had the advantage of it only being audio so no one saw him have a fanboy moment.]

Well me something, this 'stuff on TV sometimes', be it more 'long the lines of news reports, or... [He left it open for the boy to pick up the rest.]

[He was that obvious? Shawn rubs the back of his neck, ducking a little so the camera won't catch his flushed face.]

More, um... other things you'd find on TV, and comic books, if you're into that thing.

[A nervous laugh] Sorry. I'm sure there were news reports all the time, but my world wouldn't have them.

[A chuckle as Remy gave himself a mental point for getting it right, before feeling like he should make it up to Shawn.] Ya know, in the last place I got taken to, kinda like this but less spacey, I got to meet both Luke Skywalker 'nd Captain James T. Kirk. Not the actors, actually them. [A pause from his side as he considered something.] Which... realize might not mean 'nything to ya if ya don't have Star Wars or Star Trek where ya be from.

I was just tryin' to figure out if ya from a world where mutants be real, or we be fiction. Don't worry 'bout it, I know I got a counterpart out there that lives in a comic world. Have read a few of them m'self.

No kidding! [He takes a second to mull this over, because of course. Of course another place would kidnap people like Luke Skywalker, even if it would make way more sense to put the boy in space.] That's some power your old kidnappers have, if they could bring the Captain Kirk along.

[Then again, Atroma brought along his favorite X-Man, so can he complain...]

Fiction, sorry. Definitely fiction. I think I would've freaked a long time ago if I'd known you guys were more than stories I read over and over again.

[Remy chose to ignore the 'over and over again' part as while he understood that a version of his life was only a fictional story to some worlds... it still didn't sit comfortably with him that some out there knew about all his dark little secrets he liked to keep hidden. The comics he had seen in Luceti had enough in common with him that he had collected up any compromising ones he could find and had hidden them away. No one needed to know about Sinister, or the Assassins, or Bella for that fact...

Instead he focused on the easily offered distraction.] Wasn't no William Shatner sadly, must had been an alternative version of that world, seem to be a few out there. Guess it the whole... multiverse theory or something, all that stuff that's way above m' paygrade.

[If it helps, bro - Shawn seems to care less about Gambit's backstory and more about the awesome adventures the team goes on. Plus, no comics (yet).]

That's depressing. If you're gonna bring Kirk along for the ride, you bring the Kirk, you know?

Right, the multiverse. I don't know the specifics since my world was way more normal, but basically places like the one you went to and the Fleet are like... hotbeds for people from different worlds. My best friend from home was here for like a minute and a half, but he was also from the future.

Which, lemme tell, you was the weirdest thing because he was married. With kids. But back home? He was my age, and we're definitely not ready for that kind of thing.

[Remy let out a low whistle at that, giving Shawn a sympathetic look.] That be something 'lright, sorry to hear it mon ami, would say that it could be worse but I was never the overly optimistic type. Kinda works 'gainst the whole 'bad guy' thing most like to pin to me.

Nah, I know it could be a lot worse. We're kind of floating in outer space, talking to people from worlds I'd never even dream of. [Or ones he dreamed about a lot, but he's so not gonna tell Remy this. Not now.]

Have you found anyone else from your world yet? Or well, people from the same general kind of worlds?

There does happen to be a certain fille here that be from the same world I be, 'nd she even was with me in the last hellhole we were stuck in, give or take a couple of months.

Donno if it a good or bad thing, really depends on her current mood 'nd tolerance of me.

[Huh. That could be pretty much anyone from their giant universe, though Shawn doesn't want to push his luck by asking about her specifically...]

Hey, you're always welcome to crash on my ship if she ever gets that annoyed. 'Course, you'd have to get all shuffled in first, and that could take like up to a week - but I know, man. Grumpy girls are hard to deal with.

Tell ya what, if I end up on Rogue's ship 'll take ya up on that, otherwise I don't think I would survive the day, let 'long 'nything beyond that. Short of me sneakin' some of the coffee out of here to pacify her with.

[A bit of a sigh as Remy shifted in his seat, adjusting in his seat to get comfortable again.] A week, hein? Guess should make the most of it, or get crazy bored durin' the wait.

[There is a long, long pause where Shawn ducks out of view of the camera because Rogue? OF COURSE, it figures the Rogue Remy knows has way better hair than the girl Shawn's used to seeing on TV.]

Sure. [He says, when he's sure he's no longer grinning like a loon!] You're always welcome.

It kinda depends on when you get in. I got shuffled in in like, a day, but some poor saps had to wait a week. Take all the food from there that you can, though - it doesn't get any better.

[Remy raised a brow as Shawn quickly ducked out of view, confused at first before his brain turning over what the hell had happened and it settled on an answer as he sat back and waited for the boy to compose himself. This was going to take some getting use to, no one back at Luceti knew of him outside of those from his universe. This, this was something completely different.

But at least the kid seemed nice enough.

As Shawn returned to screen, Remy shot him a smirk before commenting,] Better? [And continued on like it hadn't happened.] Ya know, that don't 'nvoke much confidence in this place. 'm a Southern boy, we live for food 'nd ya go tellin' me that, [He made a tsking sound.] Breakin' m' heart.

Much.

[He feels like he should be more embarrassed about the fanboying than he is, but dangit, Remy is his FAVORITE for a reason.] Hey, if you make friends with the good cooks around here, you'll be set - but me? You seriously don't want my cooking.

Ahh, just means ya need to learn, that all. Ain't to hard to get started, just takes practice 'nd learnin' from mistakes, 'nd a good teacher helps. [Then again, this was all said without Remy really knowing how the kitchen situation was set up on the ships.]

Tell ya what, lets see where I get shipped off to 'nd can see if I can throw a few tips ya way, if ya be half 'nterested in learnin' to cook that is.

[He sits up a little straighter.] Are you sure? I'd be totally up for it, no questions asked. There's automatic food dispensers, and while that's kind of the coolest thing... it gets a little old sometimes.

I just uh, I wouldn't want to bug you about it.

'No questions asked', merde, I ain't askin' ya to raid a place or go on a job with me. [A bit of a chuckle before Remy continued.] It just cookin'.

Look, let me get a decent look at what we dealin' with day to day then will see if I can fulfill that promise. Might not have a clue how to run 'ny of the things when I get there.

Just "cooking" is a bit harder than most of the jobs I've had. [And he actually did work for the mafia that one time.]

Sure. You'll figure it out, but I'm not kidding when I'm saying you should enjoy the Marsiva while you can. It gets a whole lot smaller from here. That's kind of all I've got, but uh - it really is good meeting you, Remy.

I promise I won't tell anyone, either.

[Remy gave Shawn a salute with that.] Yes sir, will do. [Joking aside he smiled back.] Thanks, good to meet ya too.
