[For those paying attention to the feed going out from the Marsiva they would see a new arrival waking up, moving around the bunk areas and into the other rooms as he became more aware of his surroundings. It was several minutes of scanning the available areas, checking his winter attire clothing for his possessions, and just making sure he had all his limbs and a pulse, Remy moved into the Hospitality Deck.

A few moments of curious button pushing and tinkering with items in the room brought his attention to what he guessed as some sort of communication system. It was here any new viewers or those that had stuck around would find him. His coat that he had woken wearing was now draped neatly over the seat next to him, the long sleeves of his shirt rolled up to his elbows as he lit a cigarette with a charge of his powers.

He had found the mostly full packet of cigarettes still stowed safely away in his coat, along with his cards and a few other items (no bo staff or knives though), and Remy inhaled deeply before moving to hold it between his fingers and looking directly at what he was pretty sure was the camera before letting out a stream of smoke from between his lips.]

So, comin’ to one of two conclusions. One, I have the feelin’ ‘ve just fallen deeper down the rabbit hole, not that I thought that was possible, or two… ‘m dead. ‘nd if I am, gotta say, hell be a lot cooler than I thought it would be, ‘nd lot less painful ‘nd less demony. So this might be purgatory. Knew I should had paid more attention in church as a kid.

[A pause as he rubbed his thumb against an eyebrow, pushing back any real concern or worry until he knew what the hell was happening.] Ah, ‘ssumin’ ‘m not just talkin’ to m’self, ‘m Remy LeBeau, ya might know me as Gambit, or not. Uh… hi, I guess.

...ain't no Hawaii, but I was never one for beaches 'nd mai tais 'nyways.

[A pause before Remy made a sound to dismiss that last comment.] Who am I kiddin', 'm always up for a drink.

Kinda got the whole reality thing 'nd that there be payments 'round it. Don't suppose ya can lend a new blood some hints by knowin' what gives out those good ratin's, hein? We talkin' big screen kinda ratin's with five stars 'nd all, or a Spanish soap opera kinda ratin's with everyone slappin' each other 'nd findin' out someone's pregnant with their best friend's, cousin's, brother's baby?

Second one. The audience, supposedly. I ain't never heard from 'em, but we have accounts that usually have a steady pay comin' in. More if they like what they see. Couldn't tell ya what that is.

Well, as long as everything be clear as mud to everyone, who am I to complain or ask for special treatment, hein?

I've been here a couple months, most folks average about half a year.

I hope that be based on them bein' sent back home rather than gettin' killed off.

...That ain't a consequence of not gettin' high ratin's, is it? A more 'xtreme version of 'ya off the island, goodgye' kinda thing?

If it is, I ain't heard of it happenin' to anybody.

[ It's just more pleasant to assume they get sent home. ]

...lets go with 'gnorance is bliss side of it all 'nd go with the happy endin' option, hein? It be far too early in m' time here to get that morbid.

If you still want that drink, there's a coupla places planetside that ain't bad. Folks around here're gettin' wary of us, though.

Is that so? Is that because ya'll outstayed ya welcome, did something horrible, or did something awesome? [There was a possibility something 'horrible' and something 'awesome' fell into the same group, depending on what happened.]

Prob'ly. [ To all three. ] They don't like outsiders much.

Would say that's an overused cliche, but that stands pretty true for lot of places. The smaller it be, the more suspicious everyone is.

Generally not a good holiday spot.

We ain't exactly on holiday in these ships, either. Gets cramped.

Hmmmm, [A sound of concerned contemplation at that.] That's not a good combination with me.

[His semi-controlled powers in a cramped ship? Yeah, that was not good for him, the ship, or any crew he was going to be placed with.]

[ He's not used to powers to even think of that reason first. ]

Not quite, don't mind tight places. [Remy quickly pushed past the joke there to his own question before he answered James'. He needed to know how much explanation he had to give based on the man's answer.]

Ya heard of mutants from ya world? As in a species, not birth defects or horror movie monsters.

Heard of 'em. Born with abilities, manifest later in life.

[ He's close to one, but he's not telling a stranger that. ]

Oh, I see. Outdoor power?

Yeahhh, pretty much.

Got it under wraps for the most, [He thinks.] just comin' out of a place that had a power reducer on it, so not use to it bein' at this strength.

There's a desert down there with not a lot of life, plenty a'place to practice.

Might have to take that 'nto consideration. [It wouldn't be a bad idea, however there was one issue, ammo, or lack of it.]

Ah... don't suppose our hosts put the weapons I had on me into safe keepin' somewhere, did they? 'nd ya don't happen know of 'ny stores that sell playin' cards, do ya?

You can buy 'em both from the planet. Though, if you're wantin' good firearms, the ship's armoury or another planet stop would be a better bet.

Think I can skip a gun for now, thinkin' more a couple of bo staves, preferably collapsible ones, [But that might be wishful thinking short of his own equipment magically showing up again.] 'nd some throwin' knives.

Or I guess I could branch out 'nd trial some other things. [Really, Remy could turn anything into ammo given the chance, cards and knives just flew nicely in the air and had a certain style to them.]

They got nothin' of the kind down there, pal. You might wanna hold that thought.

[A shrug of a shoulder, not that Remy was sure if James could see it or not, since he was relying on audio.]

Ah well, not that 'm really plannin' on havin' to get 'nto a fight 'round here, just... bein' prepared.

Might be a fight quicker'n you think. Last month we got attacked by some unknown aliens — least we think they were aliens.

...ya know, a couple of years back 'd never really gave a thought if aliens be real or not, more just topics of sci fi movies 'nd those cheap magazines that got all sorts of bizarre stories in it. Ya know, killer corn maze eviscerates couple, or killer shark jumps out of ocean 'nd kills four on fishin' pier, that kind of merde.
