And then, suddenly, she wasn't. She found herself falling asleep in random places throughout the ship, including the kitchen and the cargo bay.
Hopefully you won't trip over her, shipmates.]

Quite literally stumbles, catching herself on the nearby wall and barely missing falling right on top of her friend. She breathes out a sigh of relief, both because she didn't fall and because Jennifer is still here. Though, what is she doing passed out on the floor of the cargo bay? Kneeling by Jennifer's sleeping form, Beverly leans down and speaks softly so as not to scare her.]
Jennifer?

She murmured softly and stirred... and suddenly her brain registered that instead of in her bed, she was on a hard floor.
Without opening her eyes, she turned on her back and groaned. This wasn't the only time this had happened this week, she thought.]
... damnit...

Jennifer, it's Beverly. Are you okay?

[The word's out before she can stop herself; rubbing her eyes, Jennifer finally opened them and began sitting up with a sigh.]
I mean... I don't know. My insomnia's been really bad the past few weeks, but I've never randomly fallen asleep to compensate for it before. It's worrying.

[She drops her gaze, a little embarrassed by her panic.]
I thought you had left, when you didn't answer your com.
no subject
[Jennifer sucked in a deep breath and let it out slowly, some of the worry she'd felt dispersing.]
I understand... and... I'm sorry I worried you.

It might be a bit selfish, yeah... but it's natural to not want to lose a friend, too. And after you've already lost people, it's understandable.

He returns a few minutes later with a blanket that he drapes over her, and then he sits nearby to try to make sure no one interferes with her sleep.]

Jennifer stirs a little bit when she hears someone, but it takes a few moments before her sleeping brain registers what's going on, and her eyes open, and it takes a few more moments before her brain calibrates what's going on and remembers where she is.]
Oh... Steven, thank you. I was just coming in to make coffee... I must've fallen asleep.
no subject
Once she wakes up, he shifts towards her in concern.]
Oh! Um, you're welcome. [He offers a smile and raises his hands to signify that everything's okay.] It's okay! Back home I feel asleep playing video games or watching tv all the time! And sometimes it was in really weird positions. [He chuckles, then looks concerned again.]
Are you alright?
no subject
[She sighed, rubbing her eyes.]
Well, I've been having trouble sleeping for a few weeks, but I have insomnia, so I'm used to it. But I've never done this before- falling asleep at random. It's a little concerning.

Is there anything I can do to help?

I- I think you should talk to one of them. Anything to make you feel better! I'm not sure if my spit would help...

[Davesprite stands there for a few seconds, wondering what the fuck he should do, before he abruptly switches into semi-anxious hovering mode.]
Hey. [Giving her a light prod.] You still alive. Please be still alive, it'd be awkward as fuck to have someone die on my watch.

Once more, it takes her a few moments to remember- right. Wonderduck. Space reality show. And the bird boy is her shipmate.]
... damnit. I am, but I think... there's something wrong. I've been falling asleep all over the place lately.
no subject
[Because sarcasm is clearly appropriate here.
Just gonna help her up, if she needs it...]
You think it's probe related.
no subject
No, just another day on the Drift Fleet, right? And that's possible... because I'm used to my insomnia, but this is a totally different problem. Maybe the interference messed up our augments?
no subject
[He rubs the spot behind his ear, where his augment is.]
Like the creep factor wasn't bad enough already. Still, insomnia turning into narcolepsy overnight. [He gives a light shrug.] You'd probably know better than me.

no subject
Yeah. Until then, is there anything we ought to do. Sleep-proof the airlocks or something.
[He's just messing around, but hey, maybe it's a fair inquiry.]
no subject
Whatever you feel is necessary, Captain. Thankfully I don't seem to be sleepwalking yet, but knowing my luck, that's the next stage.
