[ the feed flickers on, the camera shaking as the user clearly fumbles with the device. he's not the most graceful of creatures, isaac lahey. when it does finally center on his face, he looks a little bewildered. ]

Okay, so I've had weird dreams before but --

[ he looks around, walking around the hospital deck as though pacing the room might actually get him somewhere. ] I mean, am I dead? Is this what that great white light looks like? Because if it is, it's pretty disappointing.

[ no, really, he's had a lot of weird experiences with dreams, new places, supernatural things, and this? looks nothing like that at all. ]

I thought it would look at least a little more like Star Trek or... I don't know, more clouds? A lake, maybe. Something more scenic. [ ... priorities. ] Mexican food would be nice.

Two months. Right, that's not encouraging. No way out of this place then, other than, well. Out into space?

Not that I've found, anyway. I can't imagine they let you stay behind on the planets we visit.

Sometimes people get to go home, I think, but it's totally random.

Right, that's not weird at all. I guess I could be in worse places. No one seems to be screaming to get out yet.

[ ... yet, being the operative word here. but Isaac shrugs. ]

I'm not good at names either. Especially on space ships. But your name is Nova? Like... super nova? Seriously, you're in space.

Okay, first of all, that's not my given name. That's Katniss. But I was somewhere else before I was here, and I didn't remember anything, so. Nova.

Have you been to other places like this then? Because I'd say that's pretty unlucky.

I think it's a prerequisite for these sorts of things. But yeah, I was at a place sort of comparable to this one, except we lost all our memories and had to win them back by playing games.

That's... messed up. Did you win at least?

[ ... tact, Isaac, tact. ] It seems like this place might be a little bit better? I mean, the kidnapping part sucks, but.

Yeah, I mean. Probably? It's hard to know if you've gotten all your memories back... But both that place and this place are better than where I came from.

Whoa, so being kidnapped is better than your home? That's messed up.

What's your world like?

Pretty normal. High school in the middle of nowhere California. Lacrosse, annoying people, werewolves and magic ninjas. You know.

[ he doesn't have to admit that he's one, just that he's seen them. besides it all sounds fake here anyway. ]
