[ the feed flickers on, the camera shaking as the user clearly fumbles with the device. he's not the most graceful of creatures, isaac lahey. when it does finally center on his face, he looks a little bewildered. ]

Okay, so I've had weird dreams before but --

[ he looks around, walking around the hospital deck as though pacing the room might actually get him somewhere. ] I mean, am I dead? Is this what that great white light looks like? Because if it is, it's pretty disappointing.

[ no, really, he's had a lot of weird experiences with dreams, new places, supernatural things, and this? looks nothing like that at all. ]

I thought it would look at least a little more like Star Trek or... I don't know, more clouds? A lake, maybe. Something more scenic. [ ... priorities. ] Mexican food would be nice.

Pretty much. I mean, there are planets we apparently stop at every now and then. Right now it's a pretty dull dust moon. [Octavia shrugs.] When you're off the Marsiva, I can show you around if you want.

[ it just feels like maybe he took some really bad drugs, drank too much, and is making all of this up. play it cool, lahey. ]

Yeah, I think I'll need it. Space ships and I don't really have a long history together. I mean, I usually like to stay planted pretty firmly on the ground.

We've got a history, but it's not a pretty one.

[He gets a dry smile.] So I'm with you on the ground thing.

Yeah, that's great to tell me. When I'm on a space ship. For the first time.

[ so yeah, he'll be pining for some solid ground any time now. ]

Hey, don't worry too much. I highly doubt these guys'll send you off to a radiation soaked Earth to see if it's livable or not.

[It's old hat, Isaac. Chill out.

Octavia smirks.] It was, by the way. Since you'd be dying to know.

... Earth is definitely not filled with radiation where I'm from.

[ or maybe it is, and that's why they have a supernatural problem in beacon hills? ]

Glad it was livable. Sure you don't have six extra arms, too? I hear radiation is bad for you.

[grounds]

If I did, you'd be able to see it from this thing.

[Still, there smirk stays in place, amusement evident.] And yeah, it really is. But something about three generations absorbing solar radiation makes it doable for us. Go figure.

[frigidaire]

Huh. I guess so.

[ because really, he's expecting something much more hostile than just a happy little living environment in space. ]

Yeah, that sounds healthy. Sunburns must really suck for you.

[grounds]

Let's just say I never had to worry about those much.

[That's all he's getting on that subject matter.]
