[ the feed flickers on, the camera shaking as the user clearly fumbles with the device. he's not the most graceful of creatures, isaac lahey. when it does finally center on his face, he looks a little bewildered. ]

Okay, so I've had weird dreams before but --

[ he looks around, walking around the hospital deck as though pacing the room might actually get him somewhere. ] I mean, am I dead? Is this what that great white light looks like? Because if it is, it's pretty disappointing.

[ no, really, he's had a lot of weird experiences with dreams, new places, supernatural things, and this? looks nothing like that at all. ]

I thought it would look at least a little more like Star Trek or... I don't know, more clouds? A lake, maybe. Something more scenic. [ ... priorities. ] Mexican food would be nice.

Er. Yeah, totally.

[ so maybe Isaac is a bit slow on the uptake, because he's used to seeing werewolves and demons and werecoyotes and things like that. it's not exactly that surprising to see someone that looks a little different. ]

I wasn't gonna judge though, I mean. Everyone's different. [ a shrug, then. ] You're seriously an alien?

Well, from where I'm standing, you're the alien.

[frigidaire]

[ a shrug. ] We're even. I'm Isaac, though. Unless there's some alien handshake I should know?

I doubt it. Your race is probably primitive or something like that. Since you're alien and all.

[ he is actually kidding, but his blunt, to the point tone does nothing to help his case. ] I could definitely manage a handshake.

Well, at least we're not as primitive as a human who's never encountered other species before.

I'm just saying.

Oh I've encountered other species before, just not on a space ship. In space. So.

[ well, one day he'll share with the world that he's a werewolf, but not right now, not with an alien. seriously. a freaking alien. his mind is blown. ]

Then it doesn't count.

How doesn't it count? Is space in the definition of alien?

If you haven't been off-world, then other species on your planet are still native to your planet. So, they can't be aliens.

[frigidaire]

That's not what the assholes in congress say, but their opinion doesn't actually matter.

[ a shrug, because she's probably right. werewolves and their other supernatural buddies don't really count as aliens. ] I guess we're both aliens to each other then. Pretty weird, huh?

Humans are kind of everywhere, back home. Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

Yeah, you're probably right. I guess we're stuck in this place until they move us, so. Hope humans don't bother you.

[ he knows there's mention of being moved off of this ship, but what that entails he doesn't know. ] How long have you been here?

[resnipstance]

Not really.

And just a few days, I'm afraid. I'm about as new to this as you are.

Great. I'm guessing you're probably going to be better off here than I am. You know, previous space experience and all.

[resnipstance]
