[ Hopefully nobody's too fond of going out in the shuttles on this ship. One of them has been missing for hours at a time ever since the beginning of the week.

If you wait around long enough for it to return, however, you'll find a tall young "man" ducking out of the shuttle and heading down the corridor. Lost in thought as they are, this person isn't watching in front of them.....

Alternatively, should anyone in the Fleet also enjoy joyriding, that shuttle has been flying around and trying experimental maneuvers. Whoever's at the controls seems pretty good at coaxing speed out of something that isn't currently built for that, but they also don't seem to have a goal in mind. They're even drifting in what, to someone aboard a ship, might look like an upside-down position. ]

[ voice - private to Michiru ]

This is Haruka. I've investigated the shuttles.

[ NO, NO IT DOESN'T.

She'll at least pull herself together enough to smile back genially ]

Oh -- I'm Ino! And you are?

Haruka. [ She winks. ] Your crew's lucky, kitten.

[ino]

[ Oh my god. WHY IS HE SO ATTRACTIVE. ]

Well, I'm -- I'm sure we'll see each other around if this is your ship, I come here a lot!

[actsmagnificent]

I'll look forward to it.

[ And then she either takes pity on Ino or remembers she'd been gathering intel. Hard to say. She does step out of Ino's way so that if the other woman decides she'd rather be on her way, she can. ] Are there many differences between the ships?

[ino]

[ This girl is a talker, so she's pretty good with chatting it up. ]

Oh, yeah. Everyone can buy different upgrades and stuff like that, but this ship in particular [ She points to the big speaker on the wall ] has been specially modified a lot by one of the engineers that live here.

[actsmagnificent]

Sounds hardworking. [ And without a point of comparison, it's useful. ]

[ino]

[ There's a coy little smile ]

They are pretty hardworking.

You guys have a cook, too, so your kitchen is better.

No wonder you stop by. [ They have two cooks, last Haruka'd heard. Two cooks and two pilots, yet Ino's ship doesn't have a cook?

...Agh, there's no point on focusing on details when their bigger implications aren't clear to her. Appreciating that very nice smile is more pressing. ] What's your position?

[ino]

[ Well. There are other, better reasons, but Bel's cooking is definitely a plus. ]

I'm the captain and counselor for the SS Three Twins.

[ "Captain"? Their captors are overdoing this illusion of agency, aren't they?

But Haruka ducks her head all the same. ] Should I have bowed?

[ino]

[ She laughs. ]

Nah, it's not like that. It doesn't mean much, other than I get to yell at everyone when there's an emergency.

[actsmagnificent]

[ Be that as it may, Haruka still looks at Ino as if this is the most fascinating stuff she's been told all day. ] You seem like you've settled in here pretty well.

Adaptation's admirable.

[ So is the ability to be so cool, witnesses may hallucinate rose petals wafting down a spaceship corridor. (In some circles, anyway.) There they go... ]

No, she definitely has to be imagining that. ]

I'm a warrior at home, if I couldn't adapt to new situations I probably wouldn't have lived this long.
