002 [Text]

Who: Koushirou and you~
Broadcast: Text [Fleetwide]
Action: Marsiva living area
When: October 30th, midday

[There has been way too much togetherness lately and Koushirou has been doing his best to stay apart from said togetherness, spending most of his time lurking in some corner observing things around him or, more often, reading the available books. That's where he is now, in one of the reading nooks of the living areas, while he sends a message out to the network.]

I presume no one has received any indication of how long we will be here before returning to our ships, if we do so at all?

[He's kind of regretting wanting to get back onto the Marsiva in the first place, even if that had nothing to do with what actually happened. This is so not fun, and it isn't even a good opportunity to investigate anything. He's checked out all the available areas so many times by now, and he's actually getting really bored on top of being tired of being around so many people.]

I was also curious as to whether there is anyone who has remained awake after the countdown has finished.

[Someone here has been lucky enough not to be involved in any of the calibrations yet, and so the whole everyone falling asleep thing is the most interesting puzzle he can try to work on right now.]

That'd be a no on both counts for me, sorry.

Been having some fairly weird dreams, though.

[personal profile] resnipstance 2015-10-31 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Like a Force-dream, but... different.

More like... I'm seeing other people's dreams?
resnipstance: brows furrowed, thoughtful, annoyed (73)

[personal profile] resnipstance 2015-10-31 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
The details are too... too foreign to be my own dreams. People and places I've never met or could ever dream of.
resnipstance: neutral (56)

[personal profile] resnipstance 2015-10-31 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. I... hadn't mentioned it to anyone.

Maybe we should find out.
resnipstance: wtf the fuck, skeptical, avoidant (07)

[personal profile] resnipstance 2015-10-31 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
[She looks a little bit sheepish.]

Uh. I don't exactly... know them, yet?

I only got here recently. But-- I'll ask the people I do know.

Oh! ... Right. Ha, sorry.

I'm Ahsoka. Ahsoka Tano. And you?
resnipstance: neutral (59)

[personal profile] resnipstance 2015-10-31 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. Your people introduce last name first, huh? That's not so uncommon.

Ahsoka is my given name. I prefer to go by that.

Nice to meet you too, Koushirou.

I hope you're able to find answers to your questions.

A bullhorn might work, too.

[ Someday Haruka will cure herself of this "peering over people's shoulders" habit. It is not today. ]
actsmagnificent: (dainty)

We're all on the same ship, right? You'll get answers faster.

[ Who knows whether she could see what Koushirou was typing, but she's got a good guess what he was doing when she interrupted. ]

What are you hoping to learn?

[ "Annoyed" appears to be an emotion this person has never experienced. She hides it well. ]
actsmagnificent: (pose)

[personal profile] actsmagnificent 2015-11-02 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[ That...is a very good point. ] Smelling a rat, huh.

[ Then again, it doesn't take much. Haruka looks over at said countdown, since it happens to be here (and beats staring dramatically into space). ] Anyone who managed probably didn't by accident.
actsmagnificent: (shrug)

[personal profile] actsmagnificent 2015-11-02 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[ With them all confined to this tiny area of the ship? If something's happening at night, then it's to them. Not cool.

But discussing this seriously with a stranger would make too much sense potentially blow her cover, so back to being deadpan. ]
You need an alarm clock.
actsmagnificent: (hey...)

[personal profile] actsmagnificent 2015-11-06 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Using their equipment against them, huh? [ If it's possible to sound doubtful and intrigued simultaneously, Haruka just did. ] Nice trick if you can manage it.
actsmagnificent: (cute)

[personal profile] actsmagnificent 2015-11-09 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
[ Not having the experience with this technology that Koushirou does, Haruka finds it far likelier that the alarm just wouldn't have an effect. This is hardly a normal sleep in the first place.

But that doesn't really seem worth pointing out - no skin off her nose if he tries and fails - so she just pats the chair Koushirou's sitting in. ]
I'll leave that to you, then.

[personal profile] actsmagnificent 2015-11-12 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Good luck.

[ She'll move on if that's okay with him, having learned something new - about her fellow prisoners, if not the prison itself.

Well, everybody has to feel like they're doing something. Maybe he'll surprise her.

It's happened before. ]

nope
made more annoying when i dont need to fucking sleep and yet here i am
catching z's with the rest of you like a greentike delivered fresh off the cloning apparatus
feathery: art@yummytomatoes (anyway im out)

[personal profile] feathery 2015-11-02 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
[At least he knows the fault lies with him and not the poor people he subjects to his ridiculous tangents.]

not anymore
i can log off for the night if im feeling it but thats pretty rare
especially in circumstances more suspicious than the average suspicious circumstance
like
while id reluctantly tolerate them tucking me in at night the business of changing my clothes while i sleep is taking the creep factor a step too far
feathery: art@erotatsu (not a single fuck was given)

[personal profile] feathery 2015-11-09 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
i mean i kick whatevers left of my brain into submission and tell the sprite bits to fuck off until i get some shut eye
usually doesnt last for too long
feathery: art@askturntechsprite (this is your commentary riff)

[personal profile] feathery 2015-11-11 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[Don't do it, bro, don't let Davesprite tell you about Homestuck.]

taken out of context it sounds like youre asking me about something way more questionable than it is but im a pass on giving you shit because i dont even know your name
but yeah its video game shit
turns out sleeping isnt really important when youve got a few lines of code to compensate

We have been given no indication. I imagine it is less a matter of time. We will simply be here until the Atroma have finished whatever purpose they have for us here. As for the countdown, I have not. All I may say is that it does not seem to be the same somnolence magic employed by thaumaturges.

Likely, they desire to do something to affect us all, but that something has a range too small to affect the ships. I thought perhaps they intended to have us tempered, but it seems rather peaceful for that.

It is my thinking also. It bodes ill for what other effects these augments may have at their disposal.

To pull out something so intimately connected to one's brain seems an exceptionally poor idea.
