Who: Finrod Felagund
Broadcast: Fleet wide
Action: SS. Pathstone
When: December 13
[Action]
[Finrod’s first few days in space had been spent primarily adjusting to the facts that he was alive, that he was not in the Halls of Mandos, and that he was in space. It was rather a lot for an elf to deal with, especially directly after the trauma that was the dungeons of Angband. So, for the most part, he kept to himself on the Marvisa.
Once he was transported to the SS. Pathstone, however, he seems to have recovered enough of his senses to become set on exploring the ship to the full extent of his abilities, leaving no door unopened. At least he’s smart enough not to go around pressing mysterious buttons? Be thankful for the small things, people, because a curious, technologically ignorant, elf can cause a lot of problems- at least until he’s side-tracked by a window and a stunning view of the stars.
Don’t mind him if he stares for a while.]
[Video]
[Eventually, Finrod decides to reach out to the others here. Thanks to his communications augment this isn't nearly as impossible as it should have been. Even so, the video feed is out of focus when it turns on and it takes a few moments of shaky adjustments before the image of a handsome, blond, Elven man comes into view. Satisfied with his work, he eventually flashes a brilliant smile and sits down to address the fleet at large.]
A ship which sails among the stars. Extraordinary, is it not? If circumstances were different, I might speak of it with wonder and awe. As it is, I find my enthusiasm somewhat dampened. [Not entirely, though. There’s still some sparkle to his eyes, some boyish sense of adventure that death itself could not kill.]
My name, friends, is Lord Finrod Felagund and I would consider it a personal favor if any with knowledge of Arda, particularly with the House of Bëor or the children of Finarfin, would contact with me as soon as possible.
[He gives a little nod and another little smile as he reaches to turn off the communicator.] You have my thanks.

I think most people who get forced into a situation tend to be less enthusiastic about it.

He strolls up behind Finrod with a sly smirk.]

Sorry, but if those are elves you're looking for, I'm pretty sure you're the first of your kind I've seen out in the fleet.

Is that what elves are calling humans nowadays? I mean I know humans have shorter lifespans, but...
[It's not like you're immortals! Just wow. Conceited.]

[Have a human woman with thick brown hair pulled back in a ponytail and glasses perched on the bridge of her nose smiling sunnily back.]
Inconvenience aside! I'd be delighted to be here if I hadn't been kidnapped!
[Although she looks... and sounds... super delighted anyway...]
video;
You seem in good spirits, at least, despite the circumstances.

he doesn't look all that cautious when he comes strolling out of his little office/bedroom, though. he's carefully all lazy smiles as he wanders out to the bridge of the ship and finds his newest crewmate.]
...Enjoying the view?

Even the stars here are strange to me. But it is no less breathtaking to see them so near.

so, he approaches a little nearer. it's only enough to hang within a slightly more comfortable conversational distance, but it's the gesture that counts.]
I suppose you should enjoy it while you can. The novelty of it wears off faster than you'd expect.

I, um, I'm afraid I haven't heard of anyone here from that house. Actually, you're the first person I've heard of in a long time that's referred to their house at all--it's kind of a minority thing around here.
[she sits up straight on her Counselor's couch and tries to look professional!]
That said, I am Sir of the Unseelie Court, and if you had something back home you need to get back to, I hope you return there soon.
video;
But it is a pleasure Lady Sir- [He hopes he got that right.] -and I thank you for your kind wishes. Fortunately, I have no pressing business at home. [To put it mildly.] I worry more for my kith and kin.
video;
[way to go Krista, you dummy. she at least manages not to wince.]
May I ask what's going on that has you worried?

--I haven't seen you before.
[ Slightly tense, like it's more of an accusation than an observation. ]
no subject
You would not have. I have only just arrived. [He glances around the sickbay, his eyes lingering a bit on the vegetables growing everywhere it seemed possible for them to grow. Charming.] Do you stay here?
no subject
Yes, this is mine. But...if you're sick or hurt, you can still come here.
[ It is what she's here for. ]
It's been a while since we've had anyone new.
[ Everyone else will probably pity him when they know what ship he's ended up on. ]

so, Finrod will then have a scruffy whelp of an elf grinning at him from the screen.]
--Oh, um! Hi there.
I like my hover-over translations
Gi suilon, mellon. I began to think I was the only elf in the entire fleet.
WHOA THAT'S SO COOL I immediately ran off to learn how to do it
and with the way that his augment translates for him, he doesn't even notice or care that the words don't actually sound right. that doesn't matter one bit right now.]
Y'elurah haieh! ...Wow, I can't believe... wow!
OH MAN I can't believe you didn't know that before it's nifty
I'm not cool enough to know stuff like that :'D
