Who: weiss schnee and you?!
Broadcast: fleetwide
Action: the marsiva
When: today
[ why hello there, fleetians. this broadcast is brought to you by the letter W, as in WHY THIS WHY ME. which is, coincidentally enough, one of the many thoughts buzzing through weiss' mind ever since she'd woken up to find herself in space. though she supposes after a "digital" space, regular space shouldn't be too difficult to adjust to. boy, is she trying.
she might actually look familiar to some of you — there had definitely been an accidental broadcast or two of her as she fumbled through her first few hours on marsiva — mostly boring stuff like meticulously combing through any and all information she could find on her communicator (and taking an extensive amount of notes on them), stuffing her face into a pillow and screaming at the top of her lungs, and staring into a mirror and giving herself a pep talk in an attempt to Get a Grip.
apparently the Grip has been Gotten (or maybe she just grew impatient), for now she's making her first broadcast, a pleasant smile plastered on her face. ]
Good ev— [ she pauses, glancing briefly to the side; how does one even tell time in space.... ] — Greetings. [ her smile becomes just a touch more strained. ]
My name is Weiss Schnee. As the newest Communications Officer of the S.S. Three Twins, I thought it was prudent to introduce myself to the rest of the ship. I can't say I have much experience in the area of... space pioneering — [ or reality tv star, for that matter, but she's pointedly choosing to Ignore that bit of the deal thankyouverymuch ] — but when it comes to diplomacy and intermediation, I have an extensive background.
[ a brief pause. shoot, she's already forgotten her place. best to just wrap this up..! ]
It's a pleasure to make all your acquaintances. I look forward to working with you all.
[ another pause, and then she suddenly remembers—! ]
Oh, and if anyone might know where I can get some binders, I'd really appreciate the tip.
[ from the looks of it, she'll probably be needing more than one... ]

Oh, and if anyone might know where I can get some binders, I'd really appreciate the tip.
[ from the looks of it, she'll probably be needing more than one... ]

audio;
[Which...doesn't answer her question at all, but he doesn't sound bothered by that.]
It's hella popular around here. I'm starting to think it's a preferred prerequisite of getting kidnapped.
audio;
If you're insinuating I possess supernatural abilities, then yes, I suppose you're right.
[ she's hesitant to call it magic, given the term's whimsical connotations, but. semantics. ]
I still don't see how someone can look it.
audio;
People can look all kinds of things. Anyway, I don't think they have binders readily available in space. You could probably appropriate one of the books, though. I don't think they all have words in them.
[Why would he think that. What kind of books does he read.]
audio;
Don't be ridiculous. What kind of person would ruin a perfectly good book?
[ she assumes picture books. ]
audio;
I would. [A beat.] I mean they belong to assholes. You know, the assholes who are responsible for this warped session of debauchery in the first place. I don't really got a problem causing property damage for them.
It all resets in the morning, anyway.
audio;
at this point, a part of weiss just really, really wants to stick it to the man.
her fingers drum against the edge of her communicator a bit in anxious thought. ]
Is that something you partake in regularly?
audio;
[He shrugs. With his voice.]
We've been here long enough that I would have a enough garbage to start my own junkyard if they didn't keep stealing it back at night.
audio;
Do you happen to know where they keep these books?
audio;
audio;
You have concerns about the kitchen?
audio;
Just wait until you see the shit they've been feeding us. And it's actually a fuckin' improvement over the norm, which is where the conflicting opinions come in. I think it's actually food.
audio;
anyway, there is a sudden lack of boot-clicking when she pauses to comprehend his words. ]
Hang on — you're telling me the food here is awful, yet because it's food, it's still better than what you're used to?
audio;
Well...yeah. My standards are pretty low to start, but at least they've got options besides protein blocks here. No one even knows what that shit is made of. Could be people.
audio;
audio;
They've just got an actual kitchen with non-block options on the Marsiva. Some of the other abductees even know how to use it.
audio;
and she sounds thoroughly affronted. ]
That's barbaric! Are you saying there aren't even things like fruits?
[ which is. apparently all weiss eats??? ]
audio;
Uh. You can make a protein smoothie that tastes like banana?
audio;
That's disgusting.
[ at least she's started walking again... ]
audio;
Oh. You don't have like. Ornithophobia or anything like that, do you.
audio;
—no? What does that have to do with anything—
[ omg wait ]
—please don't tell me people drink chicken smoothies..!
audio;
[He's pretty sure not even the crow portion of his brain could convince him to drink that.]
I fucking hope not. No, I'm just—
[Why is this still awkward to tell people.]
—kind of a bird.
audio; 1/2
A bird...? [ she asks quietly, tentatively. ]
audio; 2/2
But how are you holding the communicator with your tiny talons?
audio;
I've got hands; I used to be a normal kid. The crow thing is newer.
audio;
Do you mean to say only parts of you are a bird?
[ if you "used" to be a normal kid... but are now a bird... but still have hands.................
this is hurting her mind. she starts walking again just to give her body something to do. ]
