[At least two weeks have passed since the Drift Fleet passengers woke up on this strange wing of the Marsiva... Some new passengers have even joined the group instead of being Shuffled off to a fleet ship! The large monitor in the central room remains quiet for now, so how is everyone holding up?

Have you been relaxing? Enjoying the Earth media? If you can even remember them, how have Calibrations been treating you? Has anyone started getting a little stir-crazy?

Don't worry... This ship has no shortage of mysteries, and you'll be seeing a few more soon.]

[Toph's found herself walking by Sokka at least half a dozen times in the span of... a good deal of time. Each time she's getting more and more annoyed at his lack of attention on anything other than whatever he's doing. And since she can hear the sound of him writing, she'll do what she does best.

On another walk by, she stops and "looks" at the papers.]

Sokka, you spelled that wrong. A couple times it looks like.

[He half-poised to scribble out that word to re-write it, when his brain catches up to him and he turns to give her the flat look he knows she can't see, but he feels the need to give it anyway. ]

Why do you do these things?

Because I still can. [Really, it's an obvious answer. Why bother, Sokka?

Toph stands there, still grinning.] Come on, let's play a game.

Oh gee, lucky me.

[He taps the paper. ]

I gotta be ready in case they show up again. I need to find out where Aang, Kairi and Iroh are.

[Toph scowls at him. Thanks to the tapping on the paper, she can tell exactly where it is, so she quickly grabs the thing (and a couple others) out from under him.]

Play a game, and you get one of these back. That's how this is going to work.

Toph! C'mon I need those! I'm trying to get them to tell us where Aang, Suki and Iroh are! Because the way they've been talking, it's sounding like not home, and I need to know what the heck is going on.

I know that! I miss them as much as you do! But tell me how falling asleep and drooling all over your notes is going to help anyone. From what I've seen, you haven't moved in hours-- not even for a bathroom break!! I bet you're overthinking things, and your brain will start oozing out your ears soon.

As cool as that'd be, I'd want it to happen to someone else instead. [She stands there, not moving.]

Now you either take a break or I make you take a nap.

[He's going to fight this, stubbornly, because of course he is. He huffs, going back to his notes.]

Sokka!! [Toph doesn't take being ignored all that well. She stomps a foot, and she floor under the table shakes slightly.]

You're not going to get anywhere just staring at some stupid papers all the time, and you know it!

[That, at least, gets his attention, and he stares down at the floor.]

And what else am I supposed to do? Just waste the chance? Not have a clue what to say to them when they actually show up again?

No, you idiot. You have us to help you. [Out of frustration she takes one of the pages and crumples it into a ball, throwing it at him. It bounces off his shoulder.]

Do you really think we'd leave you alone in this? If you keep going the way you are, you'll turn into a way less fun version of Bumi!

[He raises a finger for some prime arguing.

...But he is tired and his eye is getting kinda twitchy.]

Cool. Let's find a game I don't need to see to play.

[She starts walking off to an area with board games. He better follow her.]

[He stares at his notes for a moment, before sighing and pocketing them, following her. ]

So. What game do you want to play?

Well the one on the side looks interesting. I really love all the colors!

[This time she's overly peppy and sarcastic so he knows.]

[Long suffering sigh is go. ]

So get to it, Sokka. Find one we can both play, but I can still beat you at.

[She stands there, waiting, not very patiently.]

[He's giving her a LOOK, mostly because she can't see it, before trudging off to look through the games. ]

That is a very specific set of criteria.

I believe in you, blah blah optimism. Was that convincing enough?

[She sits down at a table.]

Oh yeah, I'm feeling the optimism here.

[Rustle rustle. He's looking. ]

Good. I tried very hard to make sure it got through.

[And she's waiting. Actually sort of patiently.]

[Toph leans forward, reaching out for the thing.]

It's called Hungry Hungry Hippos.

[He'll take her hand to put it on one of the levers. ]

You gotta hit this lots and lots of times really fast, and the little hippos on the game board stretch out their heads and eat the little balls on the board. The person with the most balls wins.

Okay. [She pauses for a long moment, then feels the need to address the glaring error here.]

I should know by now, but... it's just hippos, isn't it?
