At least there's no elevator music...
[At least two weeks have passed since the Drift Fleet passengers woke up on this strange wing of the Marsiva... Some new passengers have even joined the group instead of being Shuffled off to a fleet ship! The large monitor in the central room remains quiet for now, so how is everyone holding up?
Have you been relaxing? Enjoying the Earth media? If you can even remember them, how have Calibrations been treating you? Has anyone started getting a little stir-crazy?
Don't worry... This ship has no shortage of mysteries, and you'll be seeing a few more soon.]
ooc: here's another mingle for the current game event! players can start or continue threads here from any point during the event. the additional setting information is still being postponed due to sickly mods, but y'all are welcome to post additional topcomments for reactions and investigation once it's up!

[He inclines his head as if the demon guy can actually see him doing it. And, well... he doesn't know for sure if there's anyone from Allen's world, but he's also pretty sure Allen would've told him if that was the case.]
1/??
[He throws his head back. There goes that plan. Sure, there was the chance this guy didn't know certain people were here- but well, there'd be no way everyone wouldn't know if his brother was here if they knew Allen]
[This sucks. He knew the plan would have obstacles along the way, but this???]
2/4
[Finally, he picks Timcanpy from his lap and holds him up before his face, smiling at his friend and speaking with affection]
Tim, make sure we get home, okay?
It's not a good time for me to be awake yet. Not until we get back to Earth. But we will meet again. I promise.
3/4
[But he knew his powers were limited by this thing behind his ear. And he remembered the castle. It had that nasty tendency to revive people after two weeks, and there were people with all sorts of powers here. Starting fights when his own powers were so limited and the person could be back in two weeks anyway was a troublesome notion...]
[Might as well go with the next option]

[Manners.]

Clay turns his head towards the door, but doesn't do much else. He's... not sure if he should leave at this point, or what's going on in there. Not a good time to be awake yet? He's not getting his hopes up or anything - What can a regular human do, after all? But that does sound different than what he expected.
Just when he's thinking he should get up to leave, and even picks himself off the floor to do so, he hears the next part.
...
Did he just get Pet The Dog'd here -
It's weird, hearing someone so dangerous say stuff like this. But if there's one thing he learned from being best friends with a lawyer, it's that even the most black-hearted of villains can show fondness, affection, and politeness to others. It can be chilling and confusing, but it's what makes them people and not monsters.
So Clay looks back at the door, and:]
You're welcome.
[Manners.]
no subject
[But okay, with that out of the way and nothing for him to do...he'll relinquish control. There's no point in him being awake right now. He isn't interested in getting tased a third time.]
[Except since Allen had still been sleeping when this was happening? Relinquishing control to Clay will sound like a loud "thud" sound like a body hitting the floor. Welp. ]
no subject
Hey -
[Automatically, Clay opens the door. It's as soon as it opens that Clay thinks "You really shouldn't have done that", and he takes a step back, ready to run -
But then he actually looks inside. There's Allen on the floor, looking... normal? No gray skin like Ino said he'd have, and he's just lying there...
He hesitates... but he slowly steps inside, crouches by Allen, and tentatively reaches out to poke his shoulder.]
no subject
[But he'll start to move when he gets poked in the shoulder, making a groaning sound because ow crashing on the floor hurts. He'll turn his head to look up at whose poking him, his usual gray eyes looking up at him in dazed confusion]
...Clay...?
no subject
But when he hears his name, Clay's back to paying attention to Allen, and...
Look man, he has no idea what the protocol is for which one is demon guy and which one is Allen, he wasn't told much about this. But he... guesses... it's safe? He'll still be cautious, crouched in a way that he can get to his feet and bolt if he needs to. But for now...]
Allen?
no subject
[Allen meanwhile, seems confused as he's starting to get his bearings straight. This looked like the room on the Marsiva, and he was on the floor still in his pajamas (and with bedhair). But Clay was also there, dressed, looking cautious and....]
Yeah it's-
[...Asking who he is like he wasn't sure]
[Shit. Fear immediately flashes across his eyes and he starts pulling himself up]
Did something happen? Is everyone alright?
no subject
Yeah - Everyone's fine, you were in here the whole time. Well, "you"... I mean.
[He sits back fully now, the caution pretty much gone now. It's a relief to see Allen be himself again.]
I heard the, uh... demon guy? He was yelling about something in here.
no subject
Oh God- I'm so sorry.
[He didn't want Clay anywhere near a Noah. That's why he warned him the moment this started happening, to keep him away. The past few mornings he hadn't any missing time, so he was really hoping Nea had just given up and gone back to sleep. So to hear this now-]
Are you alright? He didn't try to hurt you, did he?
no subject
Nah, Clay reaches out to take Allen's hand in his own, trying to let him now that yes, he's okay, he's not hurt or anything, and - maybe to show his own relief over Allen being Allen now.]
No, I'm fine. I didn't try going in here until I heard you fall.
[He ducks his head, his thumb stroking along Allen's knuckles.]
I know I was supposed to stay away from him. But it sounded like all he wanted to know was where he was, so I told him about this place. [He covers his chin with his free hand, thinking back to the conversation they had.] He also wanted to know if there was anyone from your world here, and I told him no, just Timcanpy. Then he... told Tim that it wasn't time for him to be awake yet? And he... thanked me?
[Seriously, that was kind of bizarre.]
no subject
Thank God...
[He takes a couple breathes in] Maybe that means he'll stop.
no subject
[Not just for everyone else's sake, but for Allen's as well. It's hard seeing him so stressed out like this, for his hands to feel this way in such a short amount of time... It's completely understandable, and Clay's sure he'd be the same way if it was happening to him.
With his free hand, he reaches out to cup Allen's cheek.]
Are you okay?
no subject
[Not to say Allen's stress and feelings aren't taking their own toll. There's a pause at Clay's question, and he looks down. Everything was safe, they were safe, but he's still shaken up by it]
[But he's been trying so hard to stay honest to Clay, so he wasn't going to stop that now.]
...I feel disgusting. [More than the fever. Being reminded that Nea was inside his skin, using his body, possibly seeing things through Allen's eyes- it felt disgusting, violating.] It's stupid of me- it's been so long since I've had this happen, so long since he's tried anything...that I had actually started to think I was getting better.
[It was hard not to think that. A few years with next to no incidents, and it was so easy to start to believe that somehow you were getting better, no matter how unlikely it was.]
But I'm not. He's just- he's just waiting, isn't he?
no subject
There's really not much he can do - There's no way he can deny any of that, and to do so would be utterly naive, and Allen doesn't need that at all.]
... I heard him say that he wasn't going to try waking up again until he was back on Earth. I know that doesn't help much. He's still there and - yeah, still waiting. It's something about the plans he had...
[He'd been stroking Allen's hair throughout that, but now he lowers his hand to tilt Allen's chin up, getting him to look at him as he gives him a light smile.]
I don't think you're disgusting. To me, you're amazing for holding on like this. And I'm with you whether this whole thing gets better or not.
no subject
[But...back on Earth, huh? Figures. He had already known going back home was basically a death sentence]
...He wants to kill the Millennium Earl. The Earl killed him the last time he tried, so he found a way to bring himself back so he could try again. [There's dry scoff] I wouldn't mind if he did, the Earl's my enemy too, but taking over my body and eroding me away to do it...
[He shakes his head. Hell to the no. Especially when Nea's shown himself to be as stable as the San Andreas fault.]
[But...Clay is sweet, reassuring him of that. He doesn't smile, but he'll give Clay's hand a squeeze and he can feel his shoulders relax a little more. Even if he felt so frustrated by the rest of his situation, he still felt so lucky to have Clay.]
....Thank you, Clay. That means a lot to me.
no subject
[What with Daisy or whatever wanting to make Mia suffer as much as possible and possessing someone to do it. And, you know, since they're on the floor and all, Clay goes ahead and stands up, using their held hands to help Allen up as well, and start guiding him to the bed. You need some rest, honey.]
He should find some other way to do it. It sounds like that stupid plan of his isn't working out well anyway.
[Yeah, he doesn't know who this Earl guy is, except that that's the most southern name he's ever heard, and he's not sure why Demon Guy wants to kill him. But yeah, taking over Allen and wearing his body away? No. Hell to the no. Plus, well... Demon Guy's been away from Earth for years now, so it's obviously not working out in his favor anymore.
So yeah. Stupid plan.]
no subject
[Just a feeling anyway, with the Noahs. Don't seem like a bunch who'd even bother with an appearance in court.]
[With Clay's help, he'll help pull himself up, moving along to the bed. When he's near enough, he'll reach over and carefully climb onto it. Ugh. Yeah. Definitely still feeling like crap here. ]
Yeah, what an idiot. Not taking the possibility of kidnapping castles or space reality shows into account. [He says it dryly...but honestly, it's hard not to be thankful for the lucky breaks. Even if he doesn't find a way to stop this, at least these places have still given him eight more years he wouldn't have had back home]
...But really, all these places have done is delayed him. I don't know what I'll do if the augment stops working.
no subject
See, that's the thing! You've got to account for every single possibility when you're crafting a plan. Even kidnapping castles and space reality shows. He definitely didn't think things through.
[But on to more serious things. When Allen's on the bed, Clay sits on the edge of it, and he gives Allen's hand a squeeze when he's more settled.]
If the augment stops working, then we'll figure something out. You've got a lot of friends who want to help you in any way they can. I know I do.
[Which... he knows isn't much. But all of them, together? Surely something can be done, not to get rid of it, but at least to help him with it.]
no subject
Just as long as you promise to stay safe.
[His tone isn't a chiding one, it sounded like Clay played it safe this time. But still, safety first love. But he'll let out a little huff of air that blows his bangs from his face]
Ah...I'm sorry. Usually I try to be more optimistic about this. It's not that I've given up finding a solution, I haven't, it's just... [How to say it] It's hard...not to feel a little discouraged sometimes.
no subject
[It's what he prepared himself for the moment he realized that Allen had this problem of his. Being safe in the midst of danger is what he's spent his whole life training for, what with his love of space and wanting to go there. It's a promise he has no qualms with keeping.]
Hey, don't be sorry. I'm glad you're talking with me about this. [It tells him that Allen's comfortable enough with him to talk about it, and though Clay wishes he could do more, he's glad that he can be confided in like this.] Sometimes it's just... too much, right? And being positive about it can be hard. It's okay to be discouraged every now and then.
[He offers a little smile back.] It's how you pick yourself back up after it all that counts the most. And I admire that from you.
no subject
[That hint of a smile grows some and he scoots closer to Clay, leaning over to rest his head against his shoulder for support.] I will. After this, I'll pick myself up and go back to being stubbornly positive. I'll keep walking. Maybe I'll even shout that thing you always say - about being fine? That seems like a good pick-me-up.
I mean...if that's okay with you. [He knows from that calibration that Apollo taught him that. And if it was a special thing just between him and Apollo, he didn't want to intrude on that private space]
