At least there's no elevator music...

[At least two weeks have passed since the Drift Fleet passengers woke up on this strange wing of the Marsiva... Some new passengers have even joined the group instead of being Shuffled off to a fleet ship! The large monitor in the central room remains quiet for now, so how is everyone holding up?

Have you been relaxing? Enjoying the Earth media? If you can even remember them, how have Calibrations been treating you? Has anyone started getting a little stir-crazy?

Don't worry... This ship has no shortage of mysteries, and you'll be seeing a few more soon.]

The comic book looks way more important and interesting but...WORK. DUTY. Etc. He taps his notes with his pen. ]

Sure, I could always use input. I'm writing out questions to ask Diamond and Beau. Y'know, if they show up again.

Our weird hosts, right?

[He sets his comic books down and peers over at said notes. He... also can't read a word of them. That stupid language barrier.]

What kinds of questions? I've got a few myself, but they're more like "how do I get a better camera?" and "Are you SURE my friends from home aren't watching this?"

[He sighs. ]

I've been trying to find out where the people who were here are now. They just said 'safe', and I have a feeling that doesn't mean 'home'.

Wait, seriously?

[Shawn's face falls as he sighs, pulling up a seat and running his hands through his hair over and over again.]

So if they're not home, that means Cory's not back where he should be. You don't think... they might be somewhere on this ship, do you?

I don't know.

[He rubs a hand over his face, tiredly.]

I've been home, I've seen my friends, they never said anything about the Fleet. But- Diamond seemed to insinuate they were somewhere safe. Soe maybe what I saw wasn't even real? I just have more questions than answers.

[Shawn lets out a huge groan as he rests his arms across the edge of the table. It might've been heard on the other side of the ship. Maybe.]

"Safe?" Like, what, in a pod or something? Safe doesn't mean comfortable or back home.

I wasn't... man, I feel dumb. All this time, I thought my best friend got to go back home and keep on being the next Feeny.

It doesn't, and I want to know what they mean by that.

[He stares at his notes for a second, brow furrowed. ]

You're not the only one, buddy. But I'm not gonna give this one up. I'll find out where they are, no matter what.

[Shawn's quiet for a few seconds, letting it all sink in before he looks over at Sokka with the most determined face he's had since he got here--]

Then you can count me in too. I'm tired of standing around and watching everyone else go in against our producers.

[Which is kind of his crux; sitcom land never prepared him to fight against alien captors, but it sure did prepare him for launching crazy schemes against them.]

Which kinda reminds me, how do we know we're even on TV? When I was on a game show, I got a ton of fanmail every day. Kinda strange that we're not getting it here.

[And he really, truly does. Sokka is always better when he has people around him. It gives him a reason to focus. ]

Yeah. I mean, sometimes Beau and Diamond recite it, but it could just as easily be faked. We never see any actual evidence we're being watched. Heck, none of the waystation or planet people recognise us.

To be fair, our last planet didn't have TV.

[He's not trying to defend Atroma, and it's pretty obvious by how he's scrunching up his face.]

If they read some out loud, do you think it's in the archives? Like, can I go back and listen to some of those recordings? I've gotten enough fanmail to know what sounds authentic and what's... you know, off.

Maybe? I mean...you could give it a shot? And then at least we'd know, one way or the other.

Yeah. Worst case scenario, we can't see the old stuff we sent.

[He pulls out his communicator and accesses the network, while it's fresh on his mind.]

I'm not a comms guy, but they might have better luck with this.

Worth a shot, I mean, it is their area of expertise.

Yeah. I'm gonna ask my comm person, since she does owe me a favor - but you think you can get yours on this too?

Wellll my comms person is my sister, so I might have to bribe her more than anything, but I can give it a shot.

Well, if that's the case... [The pause is more for dramatic effect than anything] Let me help you out with that.

I mean, it's the least I could do, and I did technically promise to cook for you.

[He brightens considerably at that.]

Oh wow, really? That'd really help! She's getting more immune to my bribery.

Of course she would. You're her brother - I feel like it's part of those unwritten sibling rules, where you just end up being immune after a while.

[Honestly, even Shawn doesn't want Shawn's cooking (it's edible, at best) - but a promise is a promise]

We've got a great kitchen now, so I'll see what I can do.

It's such a tragic thing.
