[At least two weeks have passed since the Drift Fleet passengers woke up on this strange wing of the Marsiva... Some new passengers have even joined the group instead of being Shuffled off to a fleet ship! The large monitor in the central room remains quiet for now, so how is everyone holding up?

Have you been relaxing? Enjoying the Earth media? If you can even remember them, how have Calibrations been treating you? Has anyone started getting a little stir-crazy?

Don't worry... This ship has no shortage of mysteries, and you'll be seeing a few more soon.]

[ there is a brief, incredulous pause as weiss meets the other's eye. they aren't even stopping? weiss is pretty sure there was barely even a skip in breath!

she purses her lips a little, arms folding beneath her bust in an almost defensive gesture. ]

No, thank you. I'm not even entirely sure there'll be anything left of it once you're done.

[ it's... a compliment, really. if a little indignant, hmph. ]

[ Haruka smirks, but she mostly seems amused. She also seems intrigued. ] Some people are worth stopping for, though.

[ Let's see if she can find the "slow down" button without looking...since she'd rather look at Weiss... ]

[ weiss squints a little, once the initial shock wears out. there's... there's no way. she definitely heard wrong.

while weiss isn't exactly a stranger to casual flattery (the schnee name brought along all kinds of wannabe suitors, after all), she hasn't ever experienced one in the midst of her acting like a total brat.

she clears her throat quietly, straightening a bit to catch her composure. ]

I wouldn't nearly be as impressive, I assure you.

Don't sell yourself short. [ This treadmill is definitely stopping. Haruka reaches over to where there's a hand towel conveniently within reach. She pats her face down, then runs a hand through her hair. The sparkles that fly off are not sweat.

Personal care finished, she flashes that smile at Weiss full-force. ] What ship are you usually assigned to, kitten?

[ weiss pauses for a moment, wondering if she hadn't accidentally just walked in on some sort of photo shoot...

but then she is flashed a Charming Smile and weiss is a bit too shrewd to let herself get caught so off-guard. she puffs up a little, attempting to keep her focus. ]

It's — Weiss, actually. [ it's better than "snow angel," at least? ] And I'm the communications officer of the Three Twins. And you would be...?

[ The treadmill slows to a stop and Haruka steps off. ] Tenoh Haruka. Pilot, the Bishop. You're just in time.

[ Said as she tosses that towel half over one shoulder so it hangs there kind of like a scarf. Haruka has shoulder to spare for this kind of thing. ] It won't be so claustrophobic here with you around.

[ weiss purses her lips again, though this time it's mostly to stifle her smile. she refuses to be so easily charmed!! ]

That's nice of you to say, Haruka, but I'm afraid the logic there doesn't really make much sense. Wouldn't the space feel smaller with someone else around?

Depends who's filling it. [ Can you resist rose petals, blowing leisurely across the scene from absolutely nowhere?

[ Just wants it all laid out for her, huh? Haruka can oblige. In fact, since she's not busy with the treadmill anymore, she can even reach to put a hand on Weiss's shoulder. ] I want to get to know you better.

[ She can drop her voice to little more than a sultry whisper, too. There are so many advantages to being nice and close. ]

[ whoa what suddenly there is TOUCHING and SULTRY WHISPERS and while weiss has had to field her fair share of suitors in the past, she can't say any of them have ever dared to be quite so bold.

a flush rises to her cheeks despite herself. ]

W-Well that's — very nice of you. I suppose I have some time now — we can have a nice talk over some coffee...

[ is she being polite or is she inviting haruka out on a coffee date??? ]

Can I have two minutes to change? [ Nobody should go on a coffee date while in their gym clothes. That's just rude.

She also hasn't said no, though. So that's pretty much a yes. ]

[ suddenly she is Nervous, mostly because she hadn't expected haruka to agree, but also because she is not entirely sure what she's gotten haruka to agree to. but it makes sense, doesn't it? people get to know each other over coffee all the time...! it's certainly a much more conducive setting than a gym. ]

Um — sure.

This way. [ She tosses her head in the direction of a nearby hall. Fortunately her room isn't too far from the gym, as rooms on their little Marsiva cluster go. That way she can freshen up quickly for her companion. ]

I hope I'm not inconveniencing you.

Not at all, [ weiss is quick to say, finding herself following after the other with little more than an idea of why. everything seems to just be happening on a whirlwind...

she struggles to remember what brought this all on in the first place. ]

[ Haruka chuckles, not debating the point. Here's her door. ] I'll be quick here, too. 'Scuse me.

[ There's a blink-or-you'll-miss-it wink as she opens the door and ducks in. ]

[ left with little else to do, weiss just sort of... lingers... just outside haruka's doorway. she still isn't entirely sure what's happening, but she figures whatever it is, it can't be too bad, can it? ]

[ And in just under two minutes, Haruka's door opens again. ] Sorry. Coffee, you'd said....?

[ Sure, she's just wearing a fleet jumpsuit. But somehow she's making it work. Life is not fair. ]

[ weiss jerks suddenly, spine straight once she's joined by haruka's company again. ]

Yes. Or tea. Or whatever you'd like. It just seemed a better avenue for conversation than a treadmill...

[ Over they wander, Haruka smiling down at Weiss the whole time. (Incidentally, depending on how close Weiss gets - rumor has it that Haruka smells amazing.) ] How have you been spending your time here?

[ weiss is close, but at a respectable distance, she'd insist, and now that conversation seems to be straying towards "small talk," she finds it a bit easier to focus. ]

I've only been here a few days, so I'm spending my time brushing up on what I can. I wish I can say this is my first experience with these sort of situations, but admittedly I'd never been on a spaceship before...

It's a once-in-a-lifetime-chance. [ Well, Haruka supposes there may be some worlds where that isn't the case, but those seem to be in the minority here. Otherwise, why the implants? (Or the excuse they give for the implants, anyway.) And why the focus on Earth culture? ]

[ weiss' expression flattens a bit. ]

I suppose I could find more reason to be excited for it if I were actually given any say in it beforehand...
