[At least two weeks have passed since the Drift Fleet passengers woke up on this strange wing of the Marsiva... Some new passengers have even joined the group instead of being Shuffled off to a fleet ship! The large monitor in the central room remains quiet for now, so how is everyone holding up?

Have you been relaxing? Enjoying the Earth media? If you can even remember them, how have Calibrations been treating you? Has anyone started getting a little stir-crazy?

I should learn something new. I don't know. I've been thinking about asking people about what nature is like where they're from.

First day on Earth, and some of us saw a two headed deer. That's a pretty good summary of my experience I think.

[Octavia leans back, dropping the book in Katniss' lap.]

Things evolve I guess. People were still down there, and so were animals. Some just... weirder than before.

So it is possible for things to survive.

Overall, yeah, it looks like it is. They might not be the same or even as good as before, but they're still there. How you deal with it is really what you're facing.

[Octavia snorts.] Yeah, this was like that-- only a lot more global. There could still be people out there, if they hid well enough.

I wasn't around then, so I guess it's not as big a deal to me, especially when compared to the others.

The other people on the Ark. They actually got to see Earth for most of their life before arriving there. Lived under the floor, remember?

Of course I remember. You won't let me forget. I just didn't know if there were people on Earth, too, or just freaky deer.

Uncool. [She's referring to the not letting her forget bit, but her tone is pretty much one of nonchalance.]

Other people came down, yeah, unless you mean the ones who were still there.
