[At least two weeks have passed since the Drift Fleet passengers woke up on this strange wing of the Marsiva... Some new passengers have even joined the group instead of being Shuffled off to a fleet ship! The large monitor in the central room remains quiet for now, so how is everyone holding up?

Have you been relaxing? Enjoying the Earth media? If you can even remember them, how have Calibrations been treating you? Has anyone started getting a little stir-crazy?

Don't worry... This ship has no shortage of mysteries, and you'll be seeing a few more soon.]

Is it that obvious? [ He chuckles. ] I just arrived this morning. Have you been here long?

I'm only on my third month, so not really.

[He still has no idea what questions he can answer for new people, but it's better than roaming cluelessly, soooo.]

That's three months longer than myself. [ Though seriously, if this guy can't even tell him anything, he'll be so annoyed that he wasted his time! ] Could you tell me a bit more about what's going on in the fleet at present? Is this the norm?

[Well, if he must. Kirito closes the book and gestures- Hans is welcome to take a nearby empty seat or ignore it entirely, at his leisure.]

Not even close. We're usually just on our assigned ships, with a smaller crew and none of this stuff.

[He glances around meaningfully. No big libraries, no cushy decor, no movies or music to keep busy with. It'll be a rather bleak awakening to the newcomers, for sure.]

One day we all just woke up here with no real explanation of why or how. We're kind of making the most of it while we can, but the mystery of it is real annoying.

[ He wouldn't deny a gracious host, now, would he? So he takes the offer seat, as much as he might be concerned this conversation could be a complete waste of time. ]

Waking up in unexpected places is something of a recurring thing for them, is it? [ That's vexing. ] Does no one know why we've all been summoned here?

If anyone knows, they're not telling. We've got a fair number of guesses, though. The fleet's been a mess lately- ship malfunctions, glitches with our augments, broken communication between us and the ones keeping us here. I figure it has a lot to do with how badly things have been running over the last few months.

So things have fallen into disrepair? Are they making any efforts to fix things?

[ The idea that they're not doesn't bode well. ]

Presumably. Until we find a way to get more information that isn't a load of bull, we won't know for sure.

[Would be nice if people were more up-front about the important stuff.]

But what of this ship's crew? Surely there must be a captain at her helm.

[Rubbish, nonsense, balderdash, poppycock. But most of all, bull.]

There ought to be, yeah, but far as I know, nobody's seen them. They're probably in a part of the ship that we can't access yet.

Why keep us sealed off from them? Surely we could help them figure out this mess.

[ Yeah, sure, "help" them. ]

Why be open and communicative with prisoners? I doubt they have a high enough opinion of us to ask for help.

[Even if there are enough people here for there to be someone with the brains to sort it out.]

Point taken. [ Though he can't help but think that's an oversight on Atroma's part. ] So now we just wait it out and see what happens? Hasn't anyone tried to organize a sort of resistance?

[Look at him, being all logical and stuff. Asuna would be so proud.]

There's been talk, here and there. The real trick is figuring out how to do anything without them knowing about it. Bad enough that our enemy isn't one we can directly confront, but how do you organize anything when said enemy can see everything you say or do?

[ A predicament indeed, though Hans remains fairly confident in his ability to keep secrets. ]

That does make things rather difficult, though I suppose it would boost their "ratings" as well. Maybe it's worth a try, anyway.

Well, I'm not against the concept, anyway, and I'll get involved if anything comes up and there's anything I can do to help. I'm just not much good at organizing groups.

[He's led dungeon raids before, but one could never say he is either charismatic or tactical. Both of those seem pretty important for this sort of thing.]
