[ Upon first glance, she does actually appear to be reading the book in her hand, but a closer investigation proves that notion to be false. He debates on approaching her, not really wanting to interrupt if she is trying to read. Winter knows he doesn't much care for being interrupted..

It doesn't take much deliberation once he notes her fidgeting. He stops just out of striking range, frowning at her in what could either be concern or disappointment. Mostly, that's just the normal face he makes. ]

I never did have the concentration for it.

It does take getting used to..

But it can be nice. You don't have to worry about things for a while.

[ Really, he does. Everyone's going to have bad memories, he knows, but she is someone he would want to be spared that disappointment. ]

I don't know yet. Probably not good things though.

I... don't know. I've thought about it a lot. I didn't have anything when I got to Aather. Well, I had one memory, and it sucked. I didn't want to take them. But then I remembered Prim. Prim, and Gale, and Peeta. Cinna, Haymitch... Rue.

I'm better for remembering them, I think. But... sometimes I know it'd be easier not to.

I'm trying to decide still. I want to know what I've done- what they've made me do. Maybe if I take enough of them, I'll get something good in return..

[ Maybe it's naive, but Jim has such wonderful memories of before it all started. Winter can't help but be a little jealous of that fact. What he wouldn't give for a solid memory instead of these irritating, nonsensical fragments. ]
