[We're baaaack! Whether or not you enjoyed your time aboard the Marsiva, there's really no place like space home. With a couple of new features to explore, it's time to mingle the hell out of this ship, comrades.]

Visitor, about a week after everyone was brought back

[He's pretty sure Blue Fish still doesn't have a cook, and while he knows some people here can cook, that's still a lot of mouths to feed, so Clay decides to hop on over one day. He's immediately noticing that there's more space, which makes him feel excited and awed, and even while he cooks, he can't help looking around at the extra bit of room.

If anyone from the Blue Fish is up and about early afternoon, they'll find Clay in the kitchen whipping up a rather large meal using a mix of the food Atroma provides as well as borrowing a few of the ingredients that the crew gathered (though not too much, wouldn't want to run out or anything). There's some for the meat eaters, some for the omnivores, and some for the vegetarian(s). Whatever fills your fancy! If any other cook wants to get in here, from Blue Fish or Vanquish or whatever, they definitely can - Blue Fish has a lot of mouths and Allen's bottomless stomach to feed, after all!

All he'll ask for in return is some coffee for his crew. He must provide life nourishment for his young.]

[Bran wheels in with a characteristic look of wonder, taking in both the visitor and his busy activities. He recognizes Clay from the Marsiva - he saw him together with Allen many times, and they appeared to be in some manner of courtship. Curious to learn more about this young man, he stops to watch.]

What are you cooking?

[Oh hey, it's the kiddo! Clay grins over his shoulder as a way of greeting him, then steps to the side to flip some of the cooking meat on the pan.]

Rice with meat chunks, basically. I'm trying to make enough for most of the crew. I've got some plain rice cooking too, and I plan to do more with that once this one's done.

Oh.

[He wheels forward a bit more, slowly, trying to see the stove. Even in his chair, he's tremendously small.]

... Why are you cooking for us?

Well, last I heard, Blue Fish still doesn't have a cook augment person. Vanquish has two, and I like to cook anyway, even without the augment for it. So, why not help out everyone else here?

[He glances behind him again, then pulls the rice off of the stove and lowers it enough to show him. Best not to pull the meat away, seeing how it's sizzling and thus a bit more dangerous to show someone.]

How's it look?

[He pretends to look at it with great consideration and scrutiny, before apparently deciding on an ultimatum. He sinks back into his chair.]

It doesn't look as good as ice cream sandwiches. But it does look good. Thank you.

[geonomy]

Thank you! [He brings the pot back to the stove top, fluffing it a bit before placing the lid on it and lowering the heat, letting it simmer.] And hey, in my defense, lots of things don't look as good as ice cream sandwiches.

[Back to the meat, since that requires most of his attention. But he'll still turn slightly so that he can talk to Bran.]

You're the one with those robots, right? How're they doing?

Yes, I am.

[Bran pulls out his communicator and fiddles with it a bit. Then, just a couple of moments later, there's a slight mechanical whirring out in the hall. In come his small fleet of cleaning bots, a couple of them bumping into the chair legs. Each one is suited for a slightly different cleaning task, and that's how Bran tells them apart - he leans down to pick up the mopping bot, equipped with a special underside.]

They're well. I don't know if they can be unwell, precisely. Can a robot fall ill?

[Clay seems to light up a bit when he sees the robots, and he would bend down to talk to them, but he is kind of busy right now. It reminds him of home, kind of, what with robots being in just about every room at the GYAXA space center.]

Sometimes robots can malfunction, or catch a virus, run out of batteries, get an injury... A lady I knew back home would call them sicknesses, and fixing them would be her way of getting them better again.

[He gestures towards the robot Bran's holding with the spatula he has.] But it looks like they're all fine!

[He knows about their basic workings, due to his augment, but one word is new to him.]

What's a virius?

[Something about the sound of it is nasty and threatening. He holds Lady a bit closer.]

[geonomy]

[Awww. Clay gives a reassuring smile, though he'll still explain.]

Basically, the robot can get sick. Its operating system could get corrupted, it might not work properly, and it takes a lot of work to get rid of it. [He holds up a finger:] But! It can only happen if someone on the outside injects the sickness into it, so it's not something it can catch on its own.

[even though Nel visits the Blue Fish on a fairly regular basis, he only has a vague idea of who actually lives there. and as far as he still understands, the Blue Fish always has a cook... so when he wanders in to find this guy cooking away, he just assumes that he belongs there.

and as such, he's shy about intruding. he'll just quietly edge his way in, trying to stay out of the way, curiously watching from a safe distance... but he totally has a hoping-to-mooch look on his face.]

HELLO a month later.......

[Clay doesn't even notice he's there until a few minutes later, and only when he looks to the side to grab an ingredient. He notices someone out of the corner of his eye and - GAH. He JUMPS, having not expected anyone there.]

H-How long were you there?!
