[his treasures really do match the new antique brass and slick modern black details of the ship. shiny and patinaed and ornate--likely collected from almost every place that the fleet has been.

and he glances further in her direction for a more real look at her face, for a moment, before he smirks and returns his gaze to the tiny mirror he's busy arranging.]

You'll probably be safe, I don't believe we live with people who are likely to be leaving fingerprints on your mirrors. Where did you get all this?

[he actually hadn't meant it that way in that particular moment, but he isn't going to argue when she finally puts it down. and he of course reaches over to rearrange it as soon as she does.]

Oh, I don't know. I have a few concerns about it.

And I've gotten them from... all over, really. I tend to collect when I'm out and about.

[She had known that he liked jewelry, of course, but picture frames and mirrors will be much easier presents to come by. Now that she knows, it's entirely likely more of them will be finding their way into his possession.]

It's strange, isn't it? We're away for so long and the ship has changed, but the murals are untouched and the new decor matches your treasures almost perfectly. I half expect to see a training dummy set up somewhere for Cassandra next.

It makes me wonder if the other ships have experienced something similar.

Upsetting? I would think you of all people would love knowing you're getting constant attention.

Fair enough. I suppose it's more that I have problems with meddling higher-powers.

I think that's something we all can agree on. Time here hasn't been absolutely terrible, but I wouldn't mind knowing for certain no one is watching me bathe anymore.

[Crossing her arms over her chest, she leans up against the wall he's hung his mirror on so she can get a better look at him. There have been plenty of smiles, yes, but that's hardly any indication of his mood.]

[it's those subtle things needed to get him to actually answer anything close to honestly--all of those little roundabout efforts that add up to any amount of cooperation from him.

she's really starting to get good at it.

and you can tell when he's considering being genuine by the careful way he watches. not quite wary, but not quite far off from it either.]

Mercifully, no. Not since we've been returned, at least.

I don't know what you would call everything before that, however-- if not one giant, collective headache.

[She nods, clearly relieved to hear it. It had been a little worrisome that the headaches he had been having had originated from his augment, after all, and knowing he wasn't going to suffer brain damage at Atroma's hands is certainly good news.

It does make her wonder a little if their move to the Marsiva was partly to deal with malfunctioning brain implants, but that's something that can be considered later. For now, Jove would like to go five minutes without worrying about what Atroma is doing to them.]

And I don't think a few herbs and a massage would do much to ease that pain. Still, it's good to hear the headaches have passed. Now that we're back perhaps the new scenery will be relaxing enough to keep them away.

I'm sure that's what they are hoping, at least.

[and as generally relaxed as he seems, he's working hard to seem that way. a little roll of his shoulders to loosen the gnawing tension haunting the back of his mind belies it a little, however.]

I personally find it a little claustrophobic. I don't know if it's due to having spent a few weeks in a larger cage, but I don't remember the ship feeling so small before.

[Jove turns a little, reaching out to touch her fingertips to one of Solas' murals.]

They're not too far off in some respects.

[She doesn't mind admitting that, not when she knows she makes it clear just how much what Solas left behind means to her. The murals are calming in a way, a little piece of her own culture that she only had the chance to learn about because Solas had seen it in the Fade. She can deal with some poking and prodding as long as the paintings stay exactly where they are.]

Does decorating it make it feel less small, or is that unrelated?

I like to keep my treasures close around my lair. So... I suppose I'm expanding a bit.

[--hence why his hoard is no long in his nest room. perhaps he is claiming the entirety of the ship a little bit more.]

You make it sound like marking your territory when you put it that way.

[It doesn't sound like something she's too worried about, going by the slight tone of amusement to her voice. It's interesting more than anything else and it fits very well with what she's learned about dragons outside of Thedas.]

...but, she is absolutely correct, either way. that is precisely what he's doing.

Atroma has tampered with him a little too much, lately--including messing with what he has been forced to call home. so, he's feeling just a little bit possessive.]

These things have always belonged only to you, though, and they'll go on being yours. I wouldn't say it's exactly the same thing.
