[ The video feed clicks on, and she's squinting into the camera until she's sure it's working - then, she sits back with a soft smile and a nod of her head. ]

Ahh, looks like I'm the newbie here! Hello everyone. It sure is a lot to take in - I'm suddenly in space, all by myself, no idea how I got here... Oh, but I figured some things out just watching the broadcast! Not enough, probably. [ Shrug~ ] I'll try not to ask too many questions, I promise~

This big ship is so... quiet. So, isn't there anyone to talk to out there? I'm Kotoha.

[ Suddenly, her eyes flash green. She sticks out her tongue, and it sparks with electricity. ]

Shortcut: Flower!!

[ Out of nowhere, there's now a beautiful white flower in her hand. She holds it near the camera, like she's offering it to whoever is watching, and she does this with a grin and a wink! ]

It's nice to meet everyone.

Wow... was that alchemy?

[ Ah! Full armor! Wow. It makes her wonder what the need might be - especially out in space... ]

Not alchemy! Just words. I've never seen real alchemy before, actually.

Wow... it looks very similar to alchemy- the kind I'm used to, anyway. So you can conjure things just by words? Is it magic?

It may as well be! Magic is pretty subjective and variable where I come from... People have all kinds of different abilities. Mine just happens to be the ability to use words to make things. It's pretty convenient~ Most of the time.

[ You've got her curious now, though! ]

What's alchemy like? The kind you know, anyway?

I bet it does come in handy! You must never run out of anything.

In my world, alchemy is the deconstruction and reconstruction of matter into new forms, with the transmutations being powered by the movement of plates and rock beneath the earth. But it works by the law of equivalent exchange- to obtain, something of equal value must be lost- so I couldn't conjure anything from thin air.

Until I lose my voice! Or if I get stumped on how to describe something. [ She gives a sheepish smile and a casual shrug - eh, what can you do~? ]

Ohh, equivalent exchange... See, that makes sense! And it makes me wonder if it applies to my powers and I just don't realize - like, where would things come from if I'm calling them out of somewhere?

[ For every MP 40 she's ever summoned, is there a German weapon museum that's suddenly missing all of theirs? Because on one hand, that would be kinda funny. On the other... oops~? ]

Yeah, I can see how that would be a problem... especially if you have to be precise in describing something.

[He nods.]

Of course, rules don't work the same everywhere, you know? So maybe you really can just take stuff from nowhere. And even in my world, equivalent exchange isn't ironclad one hundred percent of the time.

[ She nods. ] So, there's a little bit of wiggle room with it... I see! Your world's alchemy sounds fascinating!

Ah, can I ask you something? [ Small pause. ] What's your name? And, why are you wearing a full suit of armor? Is it dangerous where you are right now?

[thebloodseal]

It's very interesting- and useful! Brother and I have been studying it since we were kids.

[There's a bit of a hesitation, but Al had committed himself to honesty here, so-] I'm Alphonse. This armor is actually my body, believe it or not... my real flesh and blood body still exists, but I can't access it right now.

[maschinenpistole]

[ She's not entirely unfamiliar with the concept of such displacement. ]

Sorry if that was too personal - I didn't even realize! [ She bows her head a little. When she looks up for the camera again, though, she's still smiling softly. ] Still, it's very nice to meet you, Alphonse.

Don't worry about it! I try to be open about my body... because I'm sure it would get out somehow, even if I tried to keep it a secret. I don't like deceiving people.

I know what you mean! [ Even if she doesn't elaborate - for now. Might be sensitive information overload, after all. ] Besides, if we're all going to be stuck in space together... We might as well talk about things.

Yeah, and I like hearing about the different sorts of magic and alchemy and science people have in our worlds. I want to learn new things as much as I can for the rest of my life.
