What is he doing? He is double checking the health of every single plant that was left behind. That isn't any surprise, given how he wailed about his little plants when he was on the marsiva.
The surprise might be that he has a tavern song about smashing dragons playing from his communicator. Usually he sings children's songs at his plants but apparently, today, its something he found on the device. ]
