I can't find a listing of ships counselors. I know they exist, I just need a list. And I need to know which ones are actually reliable. Personal experience rather than conjecture preferred but not requisite.

I'm sorry, I wish I could help you out, but I have no idea.

Back home the solution to everything was "meditate on it." It works sometimes, but... there are some problems it's not really adequate for.

That said, if you ever want to try it out, I'm happy to teach anyone who wants to learn.

I think this might be a case of "it would help for the smaller things, not so much for crisis situations". But it can't hurt.

What kind of meditation is it?

I know a few different kinds, but the specific one I'm thinking of is the standard sort. Sitting cross-legged on the floor, focusing on your breathing, that kind of thing.

It usually takes beginners a while to get used to, though, and for people who can't sit still there are better ways of going about it.

A friend of mine back home favored moving meditation. You stand and go through a series of movements, usually related to some kind of martial art. The idea is the same-- you have to concentrate on your breath and your body, repeating the same set of movements in a methodical manner over and over. Slowly, though. It isn't meant to be a workout.

That sounds like something I might be better at. I mean, I could do the other thing. But I like moving.

It sounds like, um. I think we have something like that on Earth called tai chi.

Well, I don't know about tai chi, but I could take you through it, if you want.
