I am leading a hunting party. One companion is ideal; I will take no more than three. Bring your own weapons and dress for the cold. We depart at sunrise, from the lodge at the foot of the mountains, and there will be trips every other day beginning tomorrow.

Well-met, Sokka. It seems no one else is coming, we can leave.

[ She nods, and starts walking on the trail. ]

Is there something you are looking for in particular, or might I choose our prey?

Go right ahead, I'll be making as many trips as I can before we leave. Got a big crew to feed.

Then we seek larger game today. We should hurry, if we wish to take our time returning with the meat.

[ Nyssa isn't predisposed to talk. Silence comes naturally to her, even more on the hunt, where her feet swallow sound and not even the rustle of her robes gives her away. ]

[Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately) for her, Sokka is predisposed to talking. A lot. ]

So. How're you liking the snow planet? It's just like home, for me.

Much like home for me as well. I grew up in the mountains, much like these. Yourself?

[He smiles. ] Mountains, cool. One of my friends grew up in the mountains.

Me? I grew up in the South Pole.

What did you hunt there? I can't imagine penguins made good meals.

We have otterpenguins, but they're still too small to make a meal. We mostly fish or hunt tigerseals, they can really feed a family for a couple days, so you're lucky if you can track one down. Sometimes Yaks.

We got a few other things too, but we hunt those for their fur and bones and stuff. You know, helpful things.

I am surprised. I did not expect such ease. The South Pole of my world is empty of people. All that survives there does so underwater.

Yeah? I know there's on on Earth that's pretty desolate. Are you from there? Earth, I mean.

Yes, I am. One Earth out of many, it seems.

It's a popular one, here. It's kinda weird, if you're not from there. Guess it's easier to appeal to the masses.

It makes it all the more difficult to plan a return home, for the Earth of one is not the Earth of the others.

It begs the question why Atroma prefers one world over others. There is little special about mine.

We just need to find the right star charts. They gotta exist somewhere.

I don't know. I guess there's something important about Earth that sets it apart?

Something, perhaps. It is unknown to us, and I suspect the real reason will make as much sense as the rest of this place.

Do you recognise any of the stars we have passed, Sokka?

Probably. Just how it all goes, I guess.

Nope, not a single one, and I know my stars back home.

I am well-acquainted with mine as well, and they aren't here. Yet, there are other familiarities. The vending machines aboard the stations, the design of the ships for humanoid beings.
