[ that is literally the only thing zuko texts, because he has stepped out onto the ice planet Hoth and is promptly regretting ever doing so. firebenders rise with the sun, and zuko is a morning person, and nothing is more claustrophobic than being on a ship with no natural light, or heat, or energy -- and being outside alone is rejuvenating for him, but --

there is so much snow.

so feel free to spot him wandering around looking furious in a scarf, stubbornly melting a small patch of snow, or perusing the markets for things to buy with money that he probably asked someone else for.

or you can hit him with snow and take advantage of the fact that he is, in fact, a firebender on what is apparently a recreation of the northern water tribe. with more salt.

And I remember everything from Paradisa. Well -

[ she tucks her hand into her own coat sleeves, frowning thoughtfully at their own feet. ]

Most things. And I'm remembering bits and pieces from Adstring, and why would I know why? I just am.

[ jeez katara. he stops walking to turn to her, frowning. ]

Remembering memories from other worlds?

Well, it happened to me, so... I guess it does.

[ she stops walking as he does, looking at him in turn. ]

It's kind of a relief, anyway.

I guess, but there has to be a reason. The Atroma must've allowed you to have those memories, or they were dormant the entire time. Or your augment did something to let you remember.

[ if katara can maintain her memories from two different worlds, and he can remember adstringendum, then it's possible to carry memories from place to place, which means it may be possible to bring them home. ]

[kyasdaughter]

Or maybe I remembered because you were here. I had no idea Adstringendum was a thing at all until you showed up, you know.

[ that's something she's considered, too. ]

Maybe it had to do with that.

he hadn't actually considered that, and he blinks. and appears to consider it for a second, before shrugging his shoulders. ]

It was probably just your augment.

I have the communication augment. Why would that do anything?

[ arguing with zuko for no reason: katara's aesthetic. ]

They can't be as simple as 'learn a new skill, it's on us.' They obviously do more than that.

[ she trails off, just because he has a good point, and it's hard to argue. ]

... at least they're upfront about it. We had something taken from us in Paradisa, and it was on us to figure out what that was.

[ so he's heard, and zuko considers that for a moment. ]

Healing. It was really... inconvenient.

I'm pretty sure half of us in Adstringendum would've been dead if it weren't for your healing.

[ which is meant to be a compliment and also an agreement as to how that is super inconvenient but you know zuko he sucks at everything ]

[kyasdaughter]

For a little while, yeah. It's not lying dying ever really stuck.

[ she's quiet for a moment, growing a little more somber. ]

Man. Things were really rough there, huh.

[honorbends]

It was bearable.

[ sometimes awful things happened, and life exploded, and things were generally terrible, but it's really the same balance of awful in his life at home. though zuko has long since recognized he has a high bar for something being actively terrible.

he should probably use the personnel services here but whatever. ]
