[The feed kicks in to show the latest arrival at where else? The viewing bay where rather than the empty expanse of space, there's now the view of an ice world within sight. A single figure is standing there with his hand pressed to the glass. He seems to be in a conversation already, even though he appears to be alone. His voice is deeper than what might be expected from such a young looking face.]

Do you think I care about all that? Just look at it. The entire expanse of the universe just waiting for me, as well as an entirely different planet. I always knew one world wouldn't be enough for me. The whole galaxy? Well, that might just do the trick.

[Ling, the docile observer just now, can't be too alarmed to realize Greed has gone from wanting one world to wanting a galaxy. Still... it's far more ambitious than simply one country. And you're content to let your Father go unpunished for what he's done? That's remarkably selfless of you to simply forgive and forget.]

Can it, you brat. What I do with him can wait. Right now, I just want to see what that little planet down there has to offer.

You've got me confused with the prince again. I haven't ever been to Xing. I can't really say I have much interest in the place.

Still... something's not adding up here. The last time I saw Brother, he was trapped in a building near Briggs during a snowstorm. So... he must have made it away from there safely. And joined up with you at some point. [He's skeptical about the part where Ed's working with Greed, but as the first Greed had said, "there's no such thing as 'no such thing'."]

Oh right, that. From the way I heard it, Gorius and Lion King got him out of bad situation. The three of them all ended up joining up with me after that.

He can be- he's an excellent combatant and has a strong defense, too. But he dislikes getting into combat if he can help it- he'd rather have admirers and pawns than enemies.

I wouldn't say so... maybe keep an eye on him. He's a Homunculus, but he also shares a body with my friend Ling. He could still hurt or kill someone if he wanted to, but Greed is also vain. He doesn't like getting his hands dirty.

Yeah. It's a long story, but... [He sighed. Al was sure he could trust Zuko, but at the same time, he wasn't sure if it was his story to tell.] Ling is a prince of his country, Xing. He wanted immortality to win the Emperor's favor to put him first in line for the throne after the Emperor dies, in order to save his own clan and unite the other clans. He accepted a Philosopher's Stone into his body because of it.

I would think so, too... but the people in Xing also don't know about Homunculi. He still physically resembles Ling, so if he can get Greed to cooperate long enough, he might be able to pull it off.

I agree, but to be fair, I also don't know a lot about Xing's people or its politics, so maybe he has something else up his sleeve. Ling was also desperate to get something to bring home, because from what I understand, the Emperor is close to death. He doesn't have a lot of time to curry favor.

Can Ling take back control?

That sounds about right, yes. I doubt Atroma's going to let him get very far.

[He then rubbed his "chin".]

I haven't seen it so far, but they do seem to cooperate to some degree. Greed once gave me a message to take to Lan Fan- Ling's bodyguard- but it was written in Xingese and Greed said he couldn't understand it. So they do exist separately, and since Ling voluntarily chose to accept Greed, it's probable Ling could take his body back.
