[ Feeling a little cooped up on his ship, Hans had anticipated his first planetary visit. Needless to say, when he finds himself coming down with an illness after one day on the icy rock, he's more than a bit put-out.

He had the usual cold symptoms. Shouldn't it be gone by now? And yet, it isn't, and he's had just about enough of sniffling like a child and sleeping away time better spent elsewhere.

As such, it's time to reach out - and, perhaps, score a few sympathy points in the meantime. In spite of his red nose and congested voice, Hans doesn't miss the opportunity to flash a smile at the screen. ]

Pardon me for the interruption. I know everyone's quite preoccupied with visiting this delightful planet [ because it's so charming, it's snow and ice, he loves snow and ice, except for the part where he hates it ] but I've been feeling under the weather lately, and I was hoping someone could suggest a remedy. The usual tricks just don't seem to quite cut it.

[ It's not as if he's been reckless with his health! He has been trying to get better, resting, eating and drinking well, keeping warming, and yet? ] Anything you can offer in the way of advice, or even medical aid would be much appreciated.

I'm not much of one for fairy tales, but I might take you up on the history of the planet. I'd be fascinated to learn more about how the culture and society formed.

...Though I wouldn't say no to a novel, either. [ ANYTHING to stave off this unbearable boredom. ]

That'd be the Blue Fish. [ Said with a measure of pride. ] Most the usual cold remedies seem to apply. Plenty of rest, fluids, tea to relieve the symptoms, and the like.

Best of luck. I could try magically healing you, but my track record isn't so great in terms of that. My friend's poor nose is never going to look the same, frankly.

...Come again? Did you say you have magic?

I-- oh, yes. A lot of people here do, honestly, but yes, I'm a wizard. Wand and all, actually.

[He even holds it up in demonstration.]

[ ... ] Now I'm certain the fever is going to my head. A magic wand, you say?

Made of cypress wood, no less. [He reaches into his pocket and tugs it out, demonstrating. A little less than a foot long. He offers a slight smile.] It might be easier to show you, though, hang on--

[A moment's rearrangement, and soon Hans is staring at the floor, one of Remus' socks lies there. A moment, and a few murmured words-- and Remus' wand gestures in the screen, and suddenly the sock is a mouse, squeaking loudly up at the camera.]

[ Really, he shouldn't be so baffled by magic - not after witnessing the queen freeze the entirety of Arendelle. Still, there's something so brazen about this casual display of magic. A sock suddenly becomes a mouse, and the measure of surprise in his voice isn't forced. ]

Well, what do you know. I apologize if I seem a little dismayed - magic is something of a rarity where I'm from.

Not at all-- we're a rarity at home as well, honestly. Our numbers are . . . god, I forget the last census number, I think there's around five hundred million of us in the world? Something along those lines.

[Which isn't so much, given how big the world is. Remus shrugs.]

It's rather nice not to be hidden, though. I suppose I'm flaunting that a bit.

[ that certainly seems like a big enough number to him, but then again, his scope of the world is somewhat limited. ]

Did you have to hide it, then? Back in your world?

[ Was it seen as something of a curse, as it had been for Elsa? ]

Yes and no. Not from each other, obviously, but from nonmagical people? Absolutely. Our government's most absolute laws are that we keep ourselves a secret.

That being said: there are occasional exceptions. My mother is nonmagical. She was caught by a magical creature, a boggart, and my father saved her. Rather than erasing her memory, they fell in love.

[ Now is that nice. If he had a heart, he might actually find it touching. ]

People are often frightened by what the don't understand. It's not surprising that you required to keep such a thing secret, though I imagine it can't be easy.

Well, it helps we're all in community together. You hardly notice until you're out in the world, but . . . even in our community, there are stigmas, so I suppose no society is perfect.

I would think not, unfortunately. It's just the nature of humanity.

You said you had magic in your home? Or is it just fairytales?

I thought it only existed in fairy tales, but I learned only recently that wasn't true. It's real, alright. And powerful.

[ Too bad it had been wielded by someone so incapable. ]

I was attending a royal ball in another kingdom when the queen suddenly had an emotional outburst and shot ice from her fingertips. She ran away into the mountains and ended up setting a blizzard over the entire kingdom.

She-- I can't imagine how powerful she must have been, to do something like that.

[He blinks-- he couldn't do that, not alone, and certainly not accidentally.]

Did it-- do you know if she managed to remove it?
