He's got your back, bro. ]
Hi. You're Bran's brother, right?
no subject
Aye.
[A sniff, followed by an apologetic laugh.]
My name is Robb. [Slowly he extends his arm and offers the other his hand.] Well met.
no subject
Sure is. You can relax, this is a pretty chilled out ship. [Chilled out. Hah, South Pole jokes. He kills himself. ]
I'm Sokka, I'm the captain here.
no subject
[His posture becomes a little more rigid. A captain leads this ship and that means he is his superior. Then again, it is quite nice not being the king here.]
You have any last names? Or do you wish me to call you captain Sokka? [He can be awfully formal about matters like this.]
no subject
[DON'T TELL HIM THE PILOT IS BLIND, NEVER TELL HIM THAT. ]
Just Sokka is fine, I don't need the formalities. We're all together in this one.
no subject
Like what?
[Gods, these people handle everything with such ease. As if they have all the time in the world and nothing can bother them.]
I prefer to address you as such. If I were your lord commander and captain I would expect of you to speak to me using the title fitting for my position. [A soft sigh.]
no subject
[He can't abandon home, not at all. There's a pause.]
It's a joke dude. You'll sprain something. It means you're...y'know, stress yourself out?
[Dude nooo. ]
If you want? But it's totally not compulsory.
no subject
Mayhaps you... [Well if this was a show. Some sort of play. They could be actors or artists.] ...can play a part. As if you were a jester of some sort.
[Well, Robb has a tendency to stress himself out.]
I appreciate the concern. [A short nod and somewhat of a smile follows.] I am not good with these... [Modern? Space?] ...newer way of japing, captain.
[Aye, dude, aye.]
Very well. [Robb dismisses the compulsory part and finally manages to get his eyes to dry a little.] Are there specific matters of security you want to see improved? Are there enemies?
no subject
It's okay, we all got to get used to living in completely different ways we're used to. I've been here a while, I've had time to deal.
[Oh, YES!]
Actually. I can show you some of our past reports. We got a band of characters who attack us once in a while, then zoom off. They ignore our hails and don't seem interested in actually hurting us, I guess? Last time they attacked, they pushed us into a nebula and made us lose all our power.
no subject
How long have you been here then, captain?
[His face brightens a little when the other mentioned past reports. At least this captain has his stuff more together than the previous one.]
Aye, please do. [A frown.] They attack us just for fun?
no subject
[He absolutely has it so together. This weirdo is at least very much war-trained. ]
I can do that, follow me, I got them in my quarters. [He heads in that direction. ] I don't know. I thought that at first but now...maybe not? I've started to wonder if they're maybe sending some kinda message to Atroma. Rebels, maybe? They're using diversion tactics, not just attacking us for sport.
no subject
I am quite new here. But I am sure you have been able to make that conclusion for yourself as well, captain.
[Robb nods firmly before he follows his cpation, mulling over the information the other has given him.]
Are you sure of that? If there are people trying to free us from this... [What was it again?] ...reality show, we might not be in such a good position. [Pawns, even. And Robb likes it not.] Have you recorded their attacks? [Not that Robb knows about how ships attack, but maybe he could make up some things about their position.] Are there names?
no subject
[He opens his quarters and jumps down into them, pulling open his cabinet and dragging out a file, holding it out for Robb.]
We've only had two attacks so far, I got them both recorded here. No names, no nothing. They don't respond to our hails, to anyone's hails. They just do whatever the heck it is they're doing, then move on, vanish.
no subject
No...I take it I am not mad. Or crawling the walls. [Still, space is something he is not entirely able to comprehend yet. That there were worlds beyond the realm he knows of. That many realms like Westeros could exist as long as you travelled through space.] I do not wish to end up falling into that void. Space.
[He takes the file and starts to read through it. Indeed, there doesn’t seem to be any sort of pattern. Or reason.]
They have no intention to kill or damage the ship? It seems so pointless. [A deep frown appears on his face and he taps a finger against the parchment.] Mayhaps we should shoot them out of the...space next time and capture the people... [Riding, sailing, flying?] ...inside that ship.
no subject
[Sokka exhales. If only it was that easy. ]
We've tried counterstrikes, but so far they've not been all that effective. Any stricken ships of theirs just fly off. Sad fact is, they can do a lot more damage to us than we can do to them.
no subject
I will believe your word, captain.
[Robb frowns a little more. Gods, there is no safety here at all. It distresses him a little. What if something would happen to Bran or Sansa again. He would never be able to forgive himself.]
Do you think they are allied to these lords who rule over this...space?
no subject
You know, I think they might be the opposite. The last time they cut us off from Atroma for a while, it's the first time I ever saw Atroma show even a tiny bit of weakness. I don't know what they're trying to achieve, but I don't think they're working with Atroma.
As for being allied with anyone else, heck, maybe? I haven't heard of anyone ruling over space as a whole. There's just...planets, with their own rulers.
no subject
They wish to free us? Have the lords of Atroma warned you about them?
[Robb figures that captain Sokka might not know. It would benefit these Atroma lords too much to not give them valuable information.]
If they might attack us again, let us try to capture one.
no subject
[It's risky but... ]
That...might be worth a try. We might actually get some answers for a change. I'm sick of guessing all the time.

It is good to know that this ship has a captain like you. The one I have been before had a blue man who suggested to put complaints inside a jar. Gods be good, that is folly. A leaders should not hide from the words his men has to say. Neither should his men not dare to speak up.
[He nods eagerly at that reply, completely agreeing.]
Aye. I take it this ship has something akin to a dungeon, not?
no subject
I'll always listen to what everyone has to say on here. No jars, ugh. You never know when someone might have something to say that can change the tide of everything. No one's opinion is too small or nor important enough.
Hm. We got a cargo bay. I could always get Toph to shift some metal around, make something like a dungeon.
no subject
Exactly. There is no jar needed when you have a mouth to speak up.
[He nods.]
Aye, it would be good if she could do that. I would appreciate it. [Toph probably won't do it if he asked.]
no subject
It would do the job, and I guess it would be a good idea in the long run. Can't be too careful.
