[Hey crew! It looks like there's some new changes that have come over the ship as well as a couple of new crewmates from the past shuffle or two! Have you been enjoying the planet, or is it too cold for you? Have you caught a nasty cold like your poor captain a few posts down, or are you a Vanquish member and are fine? Come along for a mingle, let the viewers see what you're up to! And also meet the tiniest, cutest crew member too!]

[Eugene more or less lives in his bunk and the kitchen, so if nothing else, meeting there would have been inevitable. But new faces stand out enough to stall him on his way by - and new faces that are hanging around with adorable (if totally unfamiliar) little mammals doubly so.]

Wow. I don't think we've had anyone come onboard with a pet before.

[Haruka looks up and gives the other a good stare. After about thirty seconds, he determines that he's definitely never met this person before. Though that probably isn't much of a surprise.

He turns back to the lil animal.] Not mine. I ran into it.

[He stops outright at that, and stoops after a few seconds, getting a better look at the fluffball.]

Whose is he, then? He seems pretty tame.

[he pauses a bit in his scritching. He blinks.] ...An alien?

I guess technically he's an alien, if he's one of those little fox things from the planet.

[He stoops, offering his hand, which is obligingly sniffed for a few seconds before it licks his fingertips.]

I brought in some fish. Maybe it followed me in.

What kind? From where?

[He has absolutely no clue where else he might have gotten fish. It wasn't like their captors made a regular habit of giving them fresh food.]

Mostly ocean fish, it seems like. Dried, smoked, a little frozen and fresh . . . I haven't tasted most of it, so I can't say what kind exactly.

[They're alien fish, so visual identification is out. At least everything he's sampled on the ground tastes mostly right.]

Ah... good. I didn't think... [he didn't think there would be enough water to swim around in in space. He'll fucking jump in a frozen pool of water don't test him.]

[He's good natured about it, more curious than anything. But he's pretty much stopped assuming that everyone around here is for sure 100% human.
