[Hey crew! It looks like there's some new changes that have come over the ship as well as a couple of new crewmates from the past shuffle or two! Have you been enjoying the planet, or is it too cold for you? Have you caught a nasty cold like your poor captain a few posts down, or are you a Vanquish member and are fine? Come along for a mingle, let the viewers see what you're up to! And also meet the tiniest, cutest crew member too!]

I am here [with great solemnity] ta try an' get rid of this fish stew. I heard a rumor there was someone in there who might like that sort of thing?

[There is a soft sound that might have been a gasp and then the rustling of paper going everywhere-- and shortly after that, a loud thud as Katie kind of trips over a pile of fabric on her way to the door. Whoops.]

...come in! [Maybe you can navigate this deathtrap better, your internal balance is probably still working.]

[Oh dear, that was a thud. Rogue did open the door and paused at the... huh, she hadn't seen something like this since her last laser field. It took her a moment before she located the little girl on the ground.] Ya alright over there?

Terrible. I think I broke a leg. [Which would be impressive, given she's just flopped on a pile of blankets that got tugged down with her fall. She props herself up on her elbows, blinking at Rogue owlishly until the room stops spinning. Then at all once looks hopeful.]

There could be someone in here who likes fish stew. I'd have to check.

[Such a skeptical stare you are getting, young lady. Where is your bed, even?]

Maybe ya should check on your bed. If ya can even find it in here... [Where IS your bed?]

[Technically her bed is in her designated bunk, and Katie looks shifty because she wonders if she's about to get evicted.]

Last I checked it was doing quite well. It thanked me for not giving it any germs! I should leave it alone, don't you think?

[Ah-ha! Rogue can guess what that shiftiness means.]

Depends, I reckon. What are ya usin' ta sleep on in here?

[Considering... still on the floor from when you tripped, and all.

...geeze, when did she become an Adult?]

[Comes from being the oldest person in the room, Rogue. She chews over that a moment, then points back under cover of the blankets where a pile of cushions can just be seen. Along with a fox sleeping, though its tail is twitching irritably. You people are making too much noise.]

[Yeah, well, it's revolting.

On the other hand, the fox is cute in a 'please don't come up against me and die by touching my skin' kind of way.]

Can ya sit up on that so you'll be able ta sample the stew?

For fish stew I could probably do anything. [She grins a little, relieved she's not getting sent to her actual room, and shuffles her way to somewhere a little more supportive to sit without quite disappearing under all those blankets again. It's easier to carry on a conversation when you're still in full view, after all.

Then she holds out her hands hopefully.] Is it alien fish again?

Well, it's not ASP. [Of Rogue's glowfish, lovingly named Alternate Source of Protein.

Rogue waits until Katie's settled before maneuvering her way through the blanket fort. She's a lot better at this than a normal person, and manages to not even spill the stew. Thank you, Logan.

Reaching Katie, she lowers the stew down.] It is alien fish. I got ta see it in the market 'fore I bought it. It had pretty scales, but a scary head.

[She's eyed that goldfish off a few times, you know. Luckily there's an abundance of cooks on board.]

Probably better off dead, then. It won't have its feelings hurt anymore by all the other fish swimming away in terror. [She says this blissfully as she tucks in. Empathy for fish, hah. They're food, that's it.]

You're welcome. [Making herself comfortable on ground-level.] How ya doin'? Drinkin' enough so that you're pretendin' ta be a fish?

If I drink any more I'll turn into water. [Actually she keeps forgetting that part. Katie should probably go visit the kitchen some time soon.]

We don't have orange juice, do we?

Mmm. [She sees no evidence of this drinking, young lady. Maybe tea? Bleck. But... Katie does have that British thing going, maybe she likes tea?]

No, this planet doesn't have any oranges. The fruit's mostly dried or imported, but I did find somethin' that looks a little like kiwi. [Plenty of Vitamin C in kiwi...] Not much juice in it, but we can maybe flavor the water with it anyway, make it a little less borin' ta drink, huh?

I'm all in favour of less boring. I've had kiwi at home! I can't remember if I like it or not, though.

[Translate that how you may. Meanwhile she's still eating this delicious stew.]

Mmmhmm. Well, it might serve as an orange juice substitute, it might not. It'll be green.

Green! [She brightens.] Maybe it'll be radioactive.

I hope not. [An eyebrow raised.] Ya won't find bein' mutated as much fun as ya think.

Depends on what you call fun, I suppose. [But her nose wrinkles. She likes the way she is already.] Unless it's the kind of radioactive that just gives you superpowers. I'm not sure how radioactive tea would work, though.

[And superpowers often weren't as much fun as people thought either.] What about regular old tea?

[Getting your fluids, young lady, etc., etc.]

Well, if we can't be radioactive I suppose regular old tea will have to do. [Such a grave sacrifice.] Can I finish my stew first?

[Because honestly it's delicious.]

Of course. [Tiny smile for a small child.] You want company?

[Katie smiles at that, cheered up. It's nice to have company when you're ~dying horribly~ from flu germs.]

As long as you're not worrying about catching something.

Mmm. I think it's too late anyway. I'm already exposed. [Sitting down on the floor carefully.] Might as well make the most of it.
