[A woman wearing all black lies face up in her bunk, perfectly still, her arms straight out by her sides. It's impossible to tell if she's breathing or not, but surely she must be, right?

Right?

Watch long enough and you'll see her come alive, shooting straight up with a gasp that becomes a heart-wrenching sob. Tears stream down her face and she rocks back and forth. She's saying something over and over, but the only word that can be heard clearly is "No, no, no." This goes on for a long minute before she really seems to realize where she is.

Or rather, where she is not.]

Cordelia?!

[She scrambles out of the bed and stands in the middle of the room, calling out in her thick Louisiana accent.]

Zoe? .... Myrtle?

[She sinks back on to the bed, clutching her head in her hands, her breathing becoming increasingly labored as she tries to fight the panic.]

Shit, shit, shit. Oh God, please, help me. This ain't right at all.

[Not knowing what else to do, she assumes her prior position, closes her eyes, and starts to chant. Those from Earth might recognize it as Latin.]

Spiritu duce, in me est. [Deep breath.] Spiritu... duce. Spiritu - [Another sob and she rolls over on her side and curls into a fetal position.] No, no. I can't... I can't go back there.

[Yeah she could be being burned at the stake. That doesn't make this any better.]

[And she's crying again.]

[ Oh god, don't cry! He doesn't know what to do with crying.. ]

I-- [ How the hell does he even handle this? Where was Jim when he needed him? He is much better at this. ]

[She certainly don't feel dead. Not like before. So she doesn't think he's lying about that. She sniffs and wipes her eyes with the back of her hand, though the tears are still flowing.]

[ And he'll leave it at that. ]

People are..different here. [ If that helps? ]

Different how?

[There is the tiniest glimmer of hope there. Not like she had particularly great experiences with the people she left behind, so different might be good, might be better. Maybe... maybe she's here for a reason.]

[ The good thing about it is that they all have one thing in common- the Atroma wanted them here. Hooray for them. ]

[Different worlds... the only worlds she knows are her own world and the afterlife but hey... if there's witches, why can't there be other worlds too?]

I'm from earth... but it might be a different one than you're from.

[ For now, maybe. There is still the marginal possibility he will screw this up. ]

I don't really know how to explain it. There's nothing that stands out about it.

[ Not being around it consistently for 70 years doesn't really help, either. And how is he supposed to know that superheroes aren't really the norm? ]

[Said pleasantly enough. She bears no ill-will towards Yankees, it's just a statement of fact.]

I don't like labs.

[ While it's a medical bay, it still has the look and feel of a laboratory, which only helps to give him the chills. ]

[Shuddering, she looks down and her voice goes quiet, barely audible.]

[It's almost as if she can see that poor little frog on the table in front of her, all cut open and she can feel the pain vibrating through her again.]

[ His expression goes from neutral to concerned, his brow furrowing. Judging by her entrance here, something did, though whether it was due to this or something else is questionable. ]

[She nods, looking in danger of crying again.]

[She sniffs and wipes at the impending tears furiously.]
