[... if they're here. Kanan is showing a rare amount of discretion by saying nothing else. His observations from other new arrivals has given him the intel he needs - it's a holodrama with secret recording devices hidden everywhere. It wasn't your run of the mill Imperial gig. So for now, he was going to avoid drawing attention to himself.

In the meantime, he's on the Marsiva exploring. Rather than stand gaping out the windows at space, he's trying to get a sense of the size of the ship he's on. Unfortunately it's not always easy going in a straight line among twisting and turning hallways and trying to hold numbers in his head is not easy. It would be a shame if he lost his count.]

Oh, I didn't mean me. I don't crash nearly as much as Anakin. He's the one you have to watch out for.

Anakin? As in Anakin Skywalker?

[It doesn't surprise her that Kanan has heard of him-- hasn't everyone?]

The one and only. He was my Master, back home.

Wow. [He didn't know that about her, but he didn't talk about his own past with his Ahsoka either. The here and now was all that mattered.] He was a real war hero. That must have been really something for you.

[Oh how envious a younger Caleb would have been if he only knew...]

[She smiles unconsciously, and even though Kanan can't see it, the fondness in her voice is evident.]

A little unconventional, as Masters go. But I wouldn't've traded him for anyone else.

[I wouldn't have traded mine he might have said. But instead, he could only feign a lack of understanding.]

I want to say that about my crew, but some mornings I'm pretty sure I might trade the lot of them for a rancor.

[Ahsoka just laughs. It's warm and bubbly-- unlike her adult counterpart's muted chuckle.]

I thought that was the mark of true friendship.

It's the mark of something. [Except he misses the crap out of all of them and he wouldn't trade them for a planet full of rancors.] Probably a good thing they're not here to hear that, though.

[Ahsoka just smiles and shakes her head fondly, even if Kanan can't see it. It's instinctual.]

At the moment, it's all I've got. The Atroma were kind enough to deprive me of everything else.

So you'll cling on to it even in a place where no one knows who you are?

How will they know who I am if I don't?
