[So Nami will address the network without fanfare. She sounds cold. Not in a help I'm freezing to death kind of way but I gave some idiot my coat kind of way:]

Hey, so I could use a h-hand. Northwest from the town about thirty minutes out, there's a frozen over l-lake. Mostly. I just fished one of ours out of it and if he doesn't get warm he's gonna freeze to death. Blankets or warm clothes for a... medium build guy broad shoulders. A pickup would be even better. [She pauses, glancing back over her shoulder as 'some idiot' - a wet angry cat of a man - starts sneezing violently.]

...a doctor's help would be ideal.

[Well this isn't good. Allen responds as soon as he sees the message, cutting to the chase as he starts to heads for one of the Blue Fish's shuttles.]

This is a medic from the Blue Fish. [Just in case Nami didn't remember] I'll bring a shuttle over. Shouldn't be more than a few minutes.

[Allen. Good. She honestly wasn't sure who was available, but a medic and a shuttle pilot all in one is great news.]

Thanks. We're not that far off a path up to a temple-- I can yank us out where it's clearer so you have a better chance of spotting us. [Her coat's dark, that'll help in a scenery of too much white.]

No, that'll put you in the wind's path- your priority should be to keep yourselves warm.

[While he aims to only be a few minutes, in temperatures like these- a few minutes can do a lot of damage]

Find or make some sort of marker and then seek cover from the wind. I'll find you.

[ instead of the cargo hold where (she's noticed) he's set up some sort of crazed itinerant camp. ]

I-I can help!! [Atoli's quick to rush in. She knows some first aid. It'll be fine. ]

Please stay safe and keep warm until help arrives. [Wow she sounds really nervous. This is a little stressful for her, but Atoli will do her best.]

I'm on my way.

[She's not a doctor but that's a sorta friend of hers so she's got an investment in his well being. She's not looking forward to joining then out in the cold but at least she's feeling better.]

[Nami... vaguely recognises this woman. She can't think from where. But now's not the time to play guess who.]

I've got a medic coming out with a shuttle. No point anyone else freezing in this weather, right? But thanks.

Oh, hey-- [She pauses. This is a new face-- not more than a week or two old, is it? Allen's already offered both transport and medical help, and she figures they don't need more people, but the nervousness pulls a smile to her face, teeth chattering a little.]

It's okay! Someone will be here really soon with a shuttle, so we'll be okay. I'll keep warm.

[As much as she can when someone else is wearing her outer gear, but she's doing better than he is.]

[Okay, so the immediacy is taken care of, it sounds like. She settles back in her chair, but she still looks uneasy.]

We're from the same world.

[Ah. She directs a glance at Max, then back to Furiosa.]

Assuming he doesn't do anything else stupid, he'll be fine. Just needs to get warmed up. Allen's a good medic.

[He's right. She thinks for a moment.]

I'll leave a banner for you. [Her scarf is ruined anyway, overstretched and holed at one end.]

Look for the pole on the road, I'll attach something c-colourful.

You know him already, huh? [Shipmates, by the sounds, then. The attitude is one she's very familiar with, and despite how cold she is Nami grins.]

Allen's coming to get us-- everything goes well he'll be back to you within half an hour. It'll be good if someone can keep him put.

[Why is she not surprised. She grins back faintly, before clamping her teeth down on another shiver.]

I've gotta set something up to flag our ride. You wanna talk to him a minute?

[Might be an idea.]

Yes, do what you need to do. I'll be here.

[He nods.]

Alright, I'll find you. Stay safe.

[And with that he cuts the feed. It'll probably be a bit before he comes, so keep warm guys!!]

[She hands off the comm to Max and lets him talk to Furiosa-- or lets her keep him at least vaguely focused-- and ventures out onto the path long enough to jam her staff into the ground in the middle of it.

When Allen heads this way, he'll see a bright orange scarf tied to the top, ends whipping up in the wind.]

[Max's grumpy, pale face appears in the screen. He's shivering and looking like a waterlogged cat, lips faintly blue and breaths coming out in short puffs.]

H-heard all that.

Stupidity is a — a hobby, not my sp-specialty.

One you're apparently very good at. I might just keep calling you 'Fool', seems more appropriate.

[But, in all seriousness, he looks terrible.] How's it feel?

[Some time later, the pair will spot what seems to be a shuttle from the fleet. It's a bit bigger than the standard shuttles, upgrades have added room to it. It flies over once or twice, before Allen spots that bright orange scarf among the fields of white, and comes in for landing.]

[Almost as soon as it lands, Allen in full winter gear comes out of the ship, a blanket in hand. He looks around for them, calling out]

Nami! Are you out here?

[He has to stop to try and recollect his thoughts, which feel like they keep outpacing him. Which isn't entirely unusual in his normal state, but now it's even more obnoxious. He grumbles inaudibly under his chattering teeth and huffs a short, tense breath.]

F-feels like being stuck with n—needles. Arms n' l-legs don't list—en.

[His knee is on fire, but that's a given. He kicked it pretty violently around the water, and then he stomped around on it without his brace. Though, he ducks his head, looking a bit — sheepish, perhaps?]

Hearing things.

N-n-not sure what's j-just me.

[She listens, because sometimes that's the most you can do. She can't assure him about his inner voices; that's a battle she only sees one fragment of one side of, but the planet itself?]

I wasn't going to say I told you so, [But of course she kind of just did.] but you can see why I kept my only visit brief.

Oh, I'm so relieved to hear that. [She lets out a brief sigh and then smiles.]

You got yourself into some trouble back there, didn't you? Were you frightened?

[Atoli was scared and she didn't even know the full story.]

[It's good that she listens. Really, she's the only one he'd even bring it up to -- because he knows she gets it. Others, he's not so sure. He admits, it's nice to have that. Even if sometimes he wants it gone, just so he doesn't have to think about it being there one moment, as he finds an undefended comfort in it, then gone the next.

You'll get them. [There are certain things that come from sharing the sort of tragedy and psychological damage that a world like theirs lended. She didn't question or judge him. She may not suffer the same way as he did, but she had her own nighttime demons.]
