[ As promised, in a few days time, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan make their way to the markets. They dress warmly, Obi-Wan procuring a thick cloak for himself. It's hard to feel like a Jedi Master without one.

He watches as Ahsoka flits from stall to stall as he lingers behind her, to correct her on her "bargaining" technique. In a way, they resemble a teenager, saddled with a wiser all-knowing uncle. He strokes his beard in light amusement. This is probably what he needed right now, a reassessment of his priorities, the here and now. ]

[ Ahsoka has wandered, though not too far from Obi-Wan's sight. ]

Winter accessories?

[ almost imperceptibly startled ]

Can't hurt.

Certainly not. And it would be useful for other planets to come. Is the cold new to you, then?

[ It never hurts to be prepared. ]

No, not particularly. We got snow seasonally.

[beardstrokes]

[ He nods. ]

That must have been nice. Never outstaying its welcome. Coruscant was weather-controlled at all times. Snow . . . certainly never fell there.

Well, it had its moments, but the variety was nice.

What's it like? Coruscant.

[beardstrokes]

Coruscant? Well, for one, the entire planet is a city. You won't find much of its natural habitats anymore. It is the capital of the Republic and where most of the Senate reside. It can be convenient, but also dangerous. The elite often live in the tallest towers, far from the rest.

Politics, I'm afraid, and the desire to rise above others. It is not a terrible place, but were it not for the Jedi Temple, I would not choose to reside there.

That sounds awful.

[beardstrokes]

It's not as bad as it sounds. Much like any city, it comes with inherent problems. I'm simply . . . not a fan of it.

[ He's also not a fan of the Senate. POLITICIANS. ]

I just don't like cities.

[beardstrokes]

[ He nods. ]

Of course. You would most likely prefer Felucia or Ryloth.

What are they like?

[Some amount of time later, Ahsoka wanders back to where Katniss is standing with Obi-Wan and waves cheerfully.]

Finding anything you like?

[Ahsoka makes a somewhat comically disgusted face.]

Almost nothing. Not yet, anyway.

But Obi-Wan is teaching me how to barter, so-- it's not a total wash. I guess.

You didn't know how to barter?

[resnipstance]

Sort of...? Not well, anyway.

Getting a good bargain isn't exactly something they teach at the Temple. Jedi don't really do the whole material possessions thing. If we need to buy something for a mission, the Republic provides us with the credits.

[takeabow]

I guess that makes sense.

[resnipstance]

Yeah. I got totally swindled the first time I tried to buy something here.

[takeabow]

Oh. I'm sorry. Do you think you can do better now?

[resnipstance]

Absolutely! Those stall owners won't know what hit 'em.

[takeabow]

You're not going to actually hit them, right?

[resnipstance]

--What? No! Of course not. It's a figure of speech.
