So, folks, I woke up to find that my fleet of cleaning droids suddenly doubled. All of them need names- I only have Cameron, Robocop and Leopardon so far. Got any suggestions? I'm a big sci-fi fan so I'd love to name all of them after famous robots, but I'll take anything.

[And on the Windrose, Castle could be found following his new troops, a big, goofy smile on his face.]

Sounds like my galaxy's missing out. [Trying to imagine people reading the adventures of the droids in her "back home" is hard to picture, though.] None of them really seem like the astromech type, or you could name one R2D2.

R2D2 would still be a fine name, though. [He laughed.] I'm getting the impression from other folks that droids in some places are purely functional, not gigantic weapons of mass destruction to battle equally-giant monsters like in some of our stories.

He's not a bad droid. [She's biting back a smile at his description. Those must be some stories.] And you could say that. They can cause plenty of destruction, but they aren't usually fighting giant monsters.

Yeah, in my reality, droids are mostly functional. They help us clean, build things, handle dangerous materials. But in movies and television, we lean more towards "robots are huge kickass war machines that blow stuff up".

See, I can understand that. If you make a robot too smart or too big, it can cause more trouble than it's worth.

Even the average-sized ones can be a pain, if you aren't careful. It depends on the droid's personality, more than anything.
