Who: Ludger Will Kresnik
Broadcast: Open Network
Action: SS Wonderduck
When: December 27th
[Honestly, this guy looks a little dazed. His head and shoulders are still covered in confetti. He is holding the chocolate-flavoured confection dessert cream. But he has found the kitchen, and it's so . . . lacklustre?
A small grunt, and Ludger tucks a letter away into his jacket pocket. He opens various kitchen cabinets. He closes them. He frowns, and his mouth twists a little. He searches through the cooking implements. He gets the food-dispenser to put out some teriyaki soft-solid, samples it, and almost immediately startles back in horror and surprise. The way he moves looks like someone ready to attack the offending object in front of him, except that he realizes he has no swords on his person, so he can't set it on fire.
Well, so much for that. Ludger lets out a long, worn sigh, then picks up his communication device. His eyes widen when he realizes it was on the whole time, but the sight was probably boring anyway. Still, it's time to initiate that dialogue option. There is a serious problem here, and he isn't going to stop feeling lost and dazed until he can fix it.
So he looks into the communication device head-on, expression serious.]
I need to know where to find the ingredients to make tomato soup.
[End transmission.]

Action!!
Uh- who are you?

Ludger gives a hesitant, possibly slightly awkward smile, and he waves at the guy in the door. Hello! Nice to meet you! Also, since he was asked who he is, he should give his name.] Ludger. [His head tilts to the side. Perhaps this stranger will give his name in return. Possibly not. Maybe it doesn't matter.
He has to strongly resist the urge to turn back to the kitchen and find something he can make into a soup. This is a moment that really, really needs soup.]

[....]
Must be Shuffle day. [He sighs. That'd explain that. He really needed to keep track of the days better jeez] I'm Kaneis.

[Manners are great, however, there is one minor element, and that is that Ludger would still really like to cook. He gestures towards the kitchen and tilts his head to express an 'excuse me' and then goes back to the various objects. Even if he can't make tomato soup, he can certainly make soup! So he grabs a pot and starts to accumulate the necessary ingredients for a basic soup.
After adding water to the pot, he indicates a bowl to Kaneis to say that yo, Kaneis can have some soup if he wants.] I'm going to use the dried vegetables and fish, with the mixed vegetable gel mixed with flour for the stock.
[It is the most passable soup he could work out with what they had.]

[--the voice on the other side of the communicator asks incredulously. really, what a disappointing foodstuff to be looking for.]
audio
Yes.
[Exactly one word.]
audio
...and when he doesn't get one, he extrapolates from it.]
...I was going to ask why something so bland, but perhaps it's fitting.
audio
But. He can't stay silent about one point.]
If it's cooked the right way, tomato soup isn't bland at all.

there's a moment before he responds--the kitchen he's in is a lot more lackluster, be thankful, ludger. ]
I dunno if they have tomatoes on the planet or the waystations. The only vegetables I've been able to find is stuff like--
[ excuse him, he's looking through the small bag he grabbed from a waystation before he keeled over from allergies... to hold up some sort of. vegetable. is it a parsnip? is it yuca? is it a plantain? who knows, certainly not riku. ]
... this. It's good in stews, at least.
video;
[The prospect that there are no tomatoes is really disappointing, and it shows in the fall of his expression. Very disappointing. How will he make a tomato omelette? Pasta margherita? Any of the dozens upon dozens of tomato-based dishes he and his tomato-crazed brother have eaten over the years?
But wow, that's a weird vegetable of some kind. Hm . . . Ludger scratches his chin. What could it be? And how might he use it?]
What kind of flavour?
video;
Like a potato, but... spicy, and kind of sweet. [ he shakes his head. ] If it was just sweet, it'd be a parsnip, but... I've never ate anything like this that was spicy.

So she does what she always does when she's emotional: yell at him. Milla flips on the device - to video, unfortunately, so enjoy those tears - and just leans close to shout like usual.]
Ludger Will Kresnik just what the hell do you think you're doing this time?!
video;
[Ludger reaches a hand towards the device, as if he would catch what had already fallen. Milla. When he realizes he can't touch her, his hand falls.]
Ah . . .
[The sound is on the edge between shock, pain, and happiness. The weight of everything comes back crashing down, and he wants to catch her hand again.]

But she can't do that. Even though it hasn't been that long since she saw him, the last time she saw his face wasn't the face she wanted to remember. She didn't want to remember this one, either. She had to make him smile. But...]
So... How did it go?

but no, he's able to hear a commotion going on in the kitchen from... wherever he was, so he decided to go to investigate. he never really ate these days due to those stupid proteins, neither did Kaneis. and while Flora was the resident cook at the time, she wasn't really as, er... loud as this.

protagcrewmate that he hasn't met before. this sure is different! ]Oh, hey! You new here?

Nice to meet you, Ludger! I'm Lloyd. [ he takes the hand, giving it a hardy shake. ]
