[ Sure there are bound to be the occasional less-than-thrilling broadcasts but this one may be a new low, with the camera focused in on a nondescript blob that turns out -- with some acquired distance -- to be a knee. The feed shakes then and there's the loud metallic tap tap of the device being knocked against the framework of one of the generic cots aboard the Marsiva. Tap. Tap. Tap. The only other sound is that of the painfully bland music in the background, without a word being spoken.

At least this inept user finally turns the communicator around to inspect it at another angle, granting any viewer a flash of dark and impractically spiked hair before the camera then focuses on equally shadowed eyes and a severe expression.

No, he's not going to panic. He probably already did that internally before he even tried to figure out the communicator ~~less than successfully~~. Send aid. ]

[ Sasuke will be easy to encounter either sitting on that cot and fiddling with his communicator, exploring the bay thoroughly, or staring with incredible and difficult-to-read intensity out into the murky void of space. Godspeed. ]

[ Normally he wouldn't; that's obvious to both of them. But then again, normally he wouldn't really talk to her at all in the first place, and here they are. It's hard to believe that some sentient being with an unknown agenda would pick the two of them -- out of everyone in their world -- to further its goal.

His tone is still calm but it sounds almost forced now; accepting a downgrade in ability (from god to really strong guy) is almost impossible for him to accept. ]

Well, for the most part you shouldn't need those things anyways. Anytime I've had to fight something here I've barely even had to use chakra. The most dangerous threats are other enemy ships, which we have to fight with our own ships.

What job were you assigned, by the way? You might have to think about it for a second, but you should already know thanks to the chip.

I haven't lost my chakra control or speed, or my own instincts. I won't have reason to back down quickly from any fight that finds me. [ No, he's far too stubborn for that anyway. But wait, Ino's bringing up another point, so let him concentrate. ]

[ ... Is it embarrassing? She looks unimpressed. ]

[ Good old Sasuke, keeping random stuff secret for no apparent reason. Whatever. She sighs. ]

Okay then. Well, I'm a captain of one of the ships, and a counselor. There's an empty space on my ship right now, so it's possible you might be assigned to it.

I'm confirming what I heard. I don't know that I can trust those I've received information from, but I know you're reputable.

Yes, you can transfer to another ship when the next shuffle rolls around -- that's weekly -- so long as wherever you're moving to has an open space to accommodate you. If they don't, the people on board will have to pay for an upgrade to create an extra room so the transfer can happen.

It looks like you'll be shuffled with a pretty big group, too. I haven't seen this many new people in a row in a long time.

That much I've noticed for myself. There are too many people in this space.

[ Wait, though. Insert another generous pause. ]

[ His question gets a little enigmatic smile. It's true, she looked happy to see him despite all of that. ]

[ Wanting to kill everyone was lashing out, not solving the problem. She had enough faith in him to know that if he hadn't already, he would realize that soon enough. Like he had before.

But looking at him now, he seems more tired than angry, and so she's pretty sure she's correct to think that he's already moved on from that. ]

I think you've had enough time to stop being reactionary and start being smart.

[ He's not so perfectly removed from his carefully suppressed temper to not feel a pang of irritation at her outside judgement of his crimes as "reactionary" with the added implication of their stupidity, but... it's simple enough to quell with the simple internal reminder that she's right.

His plans were born of anger, not as a solution, and the one solution he had formed had been too impractical and extremist. Based in better intentions, but still forged in a pretty sick mind. ]

[ Her expression softens a little when he says that. She wasn't particularly looking for an admittance, an apology, anything like that -- but it is nice to see that he's got his head on straight again. ]

[ 'I still wouldn't, he might add, but he's not actually looking to convince people of anything here. She's entitled to her own opinions without his influence one way or the other. ]
