[Contrary to popular believe, the Pathstone isn't THAT useless. Yes they can go months without an upgrade and sure they're kind of a mess at the best of times, but they still function!

Most of the time. Flying sideways in space is all about perspective anyway, and they haven't done a barrel roll in like... well probably awhile.

So welcome, new Pathstone dwellers! We're probably very sorry in advance.]

"Someone has to hold the title," Crowley leans on the wall, folding his arms nonchalantly. "Welcome to the Pathstone."

Oh no, it was a fellow lackadaisical leaner. The ship was going to quickly run out of walls at this rate. "Thanks. I think I've got most of the welcome wagon so far. So what do you do here?"

It is a legitimate problem aboard the Pathstone. Congrats buddy, you're on The Worst Ship.

"Communications. That's not that important, though. What is important is the bar I run on the Iskaulit."

"... a bar, huh?" That piqued his interest. It had been a long time since Kanan had done work in a cantina, but he certainly enjoyed the atmosphere even now. The fact the fleet had something close made the place all the more appealing - for the short term. "I take it you have others working it if you're here now."

"Not open just yet, opens noon," he examines his fingernails. "But I'm always hiring. Just in case you were interested. Employee discounts and everything."

"I like the idea of it." He really did. Except he wasn't even used to the present idea of just being in the fleet. "But I'm not yet ready to settle down and take a job in the fleet."

He still had to plan for escape. Even if it seemed unlikely when there were Jedi legends like Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi around, he still had to keep his mind focused on the prize. A job at a bar would come only after exhausting his options.

Crowley chuckles, giving a shrug.

"Ah well, can't blame a guy for trying. Do stop by for a drink once in a while though, hmmm?"

He grinned. "I wouldn't dream of turning that down. Noon until midnight, right?"

Crowley gives an idle salute.

"That's right. You want Málum, unless of course you fancy Space Bar, but you'll probably get diseases from there."

"Space Bar? Really?"

Coming from someone who had spent all his life moving from one planet to another, space was not nearly a novel enough concept to bother naming things after it.

"Really."

Crowley shrugs, his palms held outwards. He doesn't get it, either.

"I think he thought he was being witty."

Says the Serpent of Eden who literally named his bar "apple".

"It's a dangerous thing thinking that you're wittier than you actually are."

Still. A bar was a bar.

"Oh yes, you can't be off your game in things like that. Got to be able to stay the distance."

Don't bring a knife to a gunfight. That's what they say, isn't it?

"Years ago, I used to work at a bar called the Asteroid Belt down in the Pits of Gorse City. Come in and get belted. The bad jokes really just wrote themselves with that place."

"Wow. That's..." Crowley has to really pause to take stock of that. "...That's really fucking dreadful."

He stifled a laugh. In truth, few people gave the bar's name a second glance. It was a place to try and forget how the galaxy was and what it used to be like. "The local scene was fun, though. I'll give it that much, at least."

And if a bar did that, it made its existence worthwhile, in Crowley's humble opinion.

"Well, that's always important. Making it fun."

"Tons of fun. We had a little childcare center up in the front and an amusement park in the back."

[onlyanapple]

"How about that, a little space for the sproglets while the adults drink," Crowley nods approvingly. "I like it, childcare without actual child care involved."

There was a line where the bullshitting was reaching a point where it became impossible to tell who was bullshitting the other. The only natural conclusion was to keep doing it. "It's good for business to. Get them hooked young. It's ah... future proofing the business."

Just the sort of conversation Crowley loves best, honestly. He doesn't get to do it all that much any more. It's refreshing.

"Of course. Can't have them getting ideas that it's not a pleasant place to be, or anything like that."

Kanan had a chuckle. "So did you start this bar so you had a place to drink separate from your two captains?"

[onlyanapple]

"If you met them, you'd want to, as well."

He joking, Mostly.

"Nah. We didn't have any communal drinking place that wasn't a planet we've always clear out form when the month was done. Me and Varric put our bars up around the same time."

"I didn't think the fleet was big enough to need two. So which one gets more action?"

If he was going to go barhopping, he needed to know where the cool crowd was at. So he could go to the other one for a quiet drink.

[onlyanapple]

"We're pretty equal at the moment. Still, we've only been open a month, I'm sure people's preferences will start to show through before long."

And that right there was a pretty good plan. Once Crowley would approve of.

"As for if the fleet is big enough, it's growing every week. Besides, it makes sense to give people a little variety."
