[Contrary to popular believe, the Pathstone isn't THAT useless. Yes they can go months without an upgrade and sure they're kind of a mess at the best of times, but they still function!

Most of the time. Flying sideways in space is all about perspective anyway, and they haven't done a barrel roll in like... well probably awhile.

So welcome, new Pathstone dwellers! We're probably very sorry in advance.]

It's not a bad answer, but it does leave a certain something to be desired. Jove is all about inclusiveness, especially when every single person in the fleet had been ripped away from their homes with no say in the matter, so if she can help ease anyone into their new life in space it's something she'd like to at least attempt.

"Well you say that now but soon you might find yourself bored enough to start scribbling on the walls, too." She says it with a smile, inviting him to join in on the joke if he'd like. "My name is Jove, by the way. I'm one of the captains."

The threat of boredom was a serious one. Kanan might have liked a few lazy days of doing nothing, but he had his limits. He really worried about the state of mind that might force him into expressing his artistic side.

"I'm Kanan. Should I salute?"

One of the captains was a kind of dubious introduction. This ship wasn't much larger than a standard freighter.

"I don't think that's necessary." She gets enough of that at home, thanks. "I'm also the engineer, however, so if there's anything that happens to break you can absolutely ask for my help."

There's a bit of a pause while she considers something, looking Kanan up and down critically. Probably best to give him fair warning...

"If the other captain insists you salute, just ignore him. He's fond of trying to get a rise out of people and he's hardly ever worth the effort."

He nodded. Right now he only had one captain, but she was on another ship. But if he was going to take orders from anyone on this ship, then he would just have to decide which of these two captains seemed a better fit. Which he was consciously aware would be a terrible scenario if the ship was ever in some kind of crisis.

"I'll keep that in mind. As for me - I think I'm security." He touched the back of his neck as if to confirm that. "... not that I really needed the augment for that. But that's what I was assigned for."

Thankfully she and Tek work well together when they're under attack, so it's highly likely there won't be much to worry about. The biggest problem will probably come from Tek trying to insist he's Captain Number One when really, in Jove's opinion, she stepped up to the job when there was no one else to do it.

"You're security?" She sounds surprised when she asks, looks a little perplexed too. "That gives us three with a security augment. I'll never understand the logic Atroma."

Just in general, like what the hell.

"We're covered for an attack, if nothing else."

He felt a little redundant in a lineup like that. If such was the case, he might consider having a look around to find a ship that had more use for him. If any such openings existed. (They didn't.)
