[Contrary to popular believe, the Pathstone isn't THAT useless. Yes they can go months without an upgrade and sure they're kind of a mess at the best of times, but they still function!

Most of the time. Flying sideways in space is all about perspective anyway, and they haven't done a barrel roll in like... well probably awhile.

So welcome, new Pathstone dwellers! We're probably very sorry in advance.]

[While she goes a glass hunting, he takes a moment to locate two plates and a knife. He's not much of a dessert person (space makes for a bland diet), so he'll be splitting it down the middle for them both.]

Say what you want about the Atroma, they have some decent people here. [Some unsettling like Cole and some downright unpleasant like Tek. But the rest... they were fine.]

[princessia]

[ Elize gives a quiet nod of agreement. It hurts to talk about the people that she has met. Some are still around, but she can't help but think of the ones that left. So she tries to focus on Kanan. ]

Is there anyone on the fleet that you know from home, Kanan?

[ She doesn't know he's splitting the dessert for her, thinking he might be saving the other half for later. She sets her plush doll on the counter, to free up her hands and carefully pick up a glass cup. Pausing before the dispenser, she realizes that she hadn't asked what he wants... ]

And, umm... do you want water, tea, or the fizzy stuff?

[neverknight]

Let's try... the fizzy stuff. [It's the non-Jedi answer. He's going way off the script.]

I've got my pilot, Hera. There's some others... but I wouldn't say that I know them.

[At least - not as Kanan anyway. Or not as they are now. It's confusing.

He slides one of the plates to the opposite side of the counter.]

[princessia]

[ That reminds her of a bunch of all the Thedosians she met on the fleet. Some knew each other and others didn't. She used to jump to the conclusion that everyone was friends with each other, but that wasn't the case. Being the only Rieze Maxian for a long time, she really wonders how Atroma goes about selecting people from different worlds. ]

Oh? Did you want to be on the same ship as your friend? You don't have to stay here...

[ She can understand people wanting to leave to be on the same ship as a close friend. It's the reason why she changed ships, twice.

After filling the glass cup with orange cola, she steps back over to the counter and cants her head slightly when she sees the other half of dessert on the plate. ]

We're still sorting that out. Here.

[He gives her plate of dessert a small nudge to her before plunging his own fork into the dessert to have a bite. It's certainly a rich flavor.]

We have our own ship back in our own galaxy. Which ships we're on here doesn't really matter.

[princessia]

[ She slips the glass of orange cola in front of Kanan. Before she can further ask more about him and his friend, she's still staring questioningly at the other half of the dessert. It's good dessert, but she's not sure how she feels about taking it from the newcomer. ]

...You don't want the rest?

[neverknight]

I'm watching my calorie intake. This doesn't happen by accident.

[He taps his nicely flat stomach. He's practically a stick, really.]

[princessia]

Oh, um... okay?

[ She takes a seat on the stool across from him, picking up a fork. She tries to at least smile a little when thanking him. ]

[neverknight]

Don't mention it. [He has a bite of his desserts and chews on it thoughtfully before speaking up again.] You don't seem to be very happy on this ship.

[princessia]

Jove, Cole, and Cassandra look out for me. I'm fine being here.

[ It's the best ship for her now, even though she greatly dislikes Tek for... strange reasons.

She scoops up a piece of her dessert, then takes a bite of it. ]

[neverknight]

Fine is a whole other word than happy. [He spears his dessert with the fork again, but only to really move it around more than eat it.] Do you have family where you're from?

[princessia]

[ From her home world... ]

...My friend was letting me stay in her home. My mother and father died when I was really small.

[ When she was around three or four, perhaps. She doesn't remember anything about them. It makes her sad, but she has learned to hold back her tears about it. She solemnly prods at her dessert, then takes out another piece to chew on. ]

[neverknight]

Me, I never knew my parents. They could have been anyone.

[Which isn't to say he could compare it to having parents who had died. But in a way, he was an orphan - not just of his parents, but of the Order as well.]

[princessia]

[ She lifts her gaze slightly, after swallowing a piece of her dessert. ]

Do you ever think about what kind of people they might have been?

[neverknight]

A little. They might still be alive out there. [He spears another piece of dessert with his fork.] They would have given me up. Not because they didn't want me, but because I was supposedly meant for greater things.

[Except... well, that didn't go anywhere. He swallows again.]

[princessia]

Greater things, like what? I think mothers and fathers would want to stick around to see their child do great things...

[ That's what she thinks good, loving parents would do. Now she's just listening, prodding the piece of dessert around on her plate. ]

[neverknight]

[... well, it's not like Cole doesn't already know. There's no harm in it.]

Like becoming a Jedi. I was born with a sensitivity with the Force. It allows me to do things like this.

[For a demonstration, he holds out a hand and after a second, her plate begins to levitate a few inches off the ground. A moment later, he lowers it again.]

Jedi are raised in the temple from their youth to learn the ways of the Force.

[princessia]

[ The sudden demonstration surprises her and she lets out a small gasp, lifting her hands away from the plate as it floats for a moment. ]

The Force? So that's like spirit artes! [ A pause, then she uses a more familiar term among the fleet. ] Magic?

[neverknight]

[A head shake.]

No, not magic. Though I guess the difference might not matter to most. What I'm tapping into, the Force, is an energy that exists all around us. There are some who are born with a special sensitivity to that energy. It can be used for a lot of good, but it can also be used for evil. That's why people like me are taken in by the Order to teach us to resist using this power for selfish gain.

[princessia]

[ It still sounds like some form of magic to her, much like how she has to channel spirits in Rieze Maxia. Spirits composed the natural world, her world. As far as she knows, all Rieze Maxians have mana lobes to channel spirits. Not just select people.

She tilts her head slightly. ]

Did you have to live in the temple for most of your life, learning from the Order?

[neverknight]

I did, at first. But the Order was destroyed when I was about your age. After that... [He lifts the glass to his lips, but doesn't drink just yet.] I made do on my own.

[He drinks and doesn't dwell. Cole had already made all those memories fresh and painful. He didn't need to go revisiting them a second time in one day.]

[princessia]

Oh...

[ She frowns. It doesn't sound like she has much to say on it, but she's thinking to herself about how lonely it must have been for him. She looks back down at the dessert, but she doesn't pick off another piece to eat. She's back to idly prodding off bits and pieces with her fork. ]

...The laboratory I was raised in, it was destroyed too. It wasn't that long ago. My previous caretaker took me to a village and left me on my own.
