[perhaps the positive reinforcement isn't hitting him like it should, or maybe the whole thing is just tugging on some uncomfortable feeling of his, but her comment doesn't seem to ease him any. he doesn't seem irritable, just... troubled.]

Obviously he'd probably work best with you, but I don't exactly feel secure about him going off alone. If things took a turn for the worse...
