Oh, hello. I think I've done this thing right.

[A youngish red head was looking around herself, the interior of the ship clear in the background. She's in some hallways somewhere.]

Well, this is a bit sad to say but, can anyone direct me to the labs? Sorry, I should introduce myself first. Lily Evans here, I guess I'm your new lab support personnel. Blimey if I know what all that entails but, I was always a fair hand at potions.

Right, well then if anyone could be so kind, pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.

[Lily offered brightly to the woman, her green eyes sparkled with a sort of open warmth.]

I am thanks, {she added more with a soft laugh.] Aside from fouling my directions up. I think this place changes more than, well just need a map is all I guess.

[ it only now occurs to her that others might find these ships maze-like. they cause sansa all manner of anxiety, but not because of their hallways. in this way, they are more like castles whose corridors are to be decoded. she's always been handy with directions.

Yes, thank you. He contacted me straight away. [Oh dear, Potter has talked about her.]

Whatever he has said is likely untrue. He loves to torment me, I think it's his favorite hobby.

[ does that? ] Truly?

Oh yes, all this past year. Popping out of broom cupboards, leaving flocks of notes, putting first years up to asking me out in his stead. He doesn't understand what no means.

It might be that he's grown a great deal since then. [ low-voiced, and troubled. the james she's met has been nothing short of courteous and engaging. she's sad to learn he isn't what he seems to be. ]

You know, I'd like to think he did, or that he could. He could be so brilliant, and he's already got loads of talent and people just gravitate to him if only he could find a direction with that.

But you can't say things like that to him because all he hears is how great he is.

I have... I had a friend, we were close from before I went to school with Potter. And they right off got on the wrong foot with each other. And in the end they were both prats about it but Potter really did do things to hurt my friend because it amused him so much. I don't know if I can ever forgive him for that.

[ oh, this is disappointing. she thought james was unlike the other lions. ]

Put in those words, you make him sound...cruel.

[It did, didn't it? Lily sighed.]

I don't think he means to be, if that helps. I think he just doesn't think of how what he does effects other people when he's in the moment. And I'm probably the worst judge of him there is. Remus could give you a different point of view.

Remus is his friend. He will, of course, speak well of him. [ now, she's more interested in lily's complaints. made curious by them. ] What did he do? Who did he hurt?

And aside from being a bit showy I don't think he has ever done badly by Remus or his friends. [She wanted to be upfront about that. Potter and the rest of the group were fiercely protective of each other.]

Well the story goes back for me. When I was a little girl I had no idea witches and wizards actually existed. I met a boy who knew and was a wizard himself. We became friends and grew closer as we went to school. Potter singled him out day one because, well we have different houses at school. Sort of like different families or clans. Some houses are rivals, Sev that was my friend, got sorted into a rival house. Sev and Potter never got on and they picked back and forth at each other. But Potter was wealthy and popular and surrounded by fans and friends so people thought he could do no wrong. Sev was poor and few people liked him, it was bound to go badly eventually.

Sev started to look for friend, powerful ones, and chose the wrong sort. I was trying to help him find a better way but Potter did something one day to humiliate him. I spoke up and defended Sev but he had his aspirations and his new friends and he said something that hurt me terribly. I don't think he would have had Potter not set out to embarrass him in front of so many people. Sev lashed out and it was something that, I couldn't let go or ignore. It ended our friendship and made me see Potter could be cruel when he wanted to and not consider all he might be hurting.

So, my view of Potter is biased from my dealings with him. And that doesn't mean he's like that with everyone, especially his friends. He's always been good to them.

[ lily evans, it seems, talks a lot. and a great deal of it meant very little to sansa stark. but (being polite) she listens as best as she can. even in the middle, when the story starts to lose her at times.

but come the end, there's very little she can respond with besides a curt: ] -- What eventful lives you all lead.

[ buried deep in her words might be a barb. or a sly nod. but she's good at hiding it. ]

[There were problems with wanting to say too much at once, and Lily did that when she felt the need to explain herself.]

Eventful, one way of saying it. Headstrong, prideful and stupid is another. [And she counted herself among that number.

Odd. He made it all sounds far more -- magical.

Point of view I suppose, but he is right about parts of it. I mean we were learning magic and to see what can be done is really amazing.

Snow, rain, fill a room with butterflies or birds, get windy. All sorts of things, magic is incredibly useful!
