[ North had taken on it on himself since his arrival to try and cook at least one meal a day, but it looked—and smelled!—like the newcomer had done pretty well about figuring out how to make something out of the available ingredients. North entered the mess and glanced over the spread. ]

Looks like that venison we caught when we made planetfall came in handy. Smells good.

Hello. [She beamed at the man, all deep red hair and startlingly green eyes over that smile. She leaned the broom aside and used a towel to clean her hands.] Well it's not much but I think it's not too bad. It's fresh and warm and homemade which always counts for something I think.

[She held out her now clean hand to him.] Lily Evans.

I'm North. [ Using the pseudonym is all but second-nature to him now, especially finding himself in this new place after so long under the Dome. He takes her hand and shakes it firmly. ]

You don't have to worry about cleaning if you cooked. I'm sure we can work out a rotation since we don't have a cook, but I don't want you—oranyone—to get overwhelmed.
