[ The video feed opens with a very irritable-looking blonde. She pinches the bridge of her nose for a moment, summoning the will to not just scream at everyone over the network ... and then there's a very long-suffering sigh as she looks up at the camera. ]

All right. Fine. I shouldn't have to say this, but since apparently some of you have serious issues and don't understand how creepy and perverted you're being, I'm going to.

I'm sure most of you remember the media files we got after that whole episode with the Marsiva. If you don't, everyone had some files uploaded to the network that were ... things from their home world? Things they might like? I don't know, something like that.

Anyways, I don't know why people keep nosing around in my file, but whatever. You're curious, I get it, they're public files, whatever. But whoever started PASSING THE DAMN THING AROUND to strangers needs to find a hobby. And stop before you send it to an actual child's mailbox! It's inappropriate!

[ She huffs, her fists clenched at her sides after that little bit of ranting. ]

And for the record, no, I don't enjoy that piece of crap, someone from my world happened to write it, and I guess Atroma thought it would be funny to give it to me.

Just -- find something better to do with your time, all right? Don't make me hunt you down. [ Is there a way to do that? She has no idea, but she'll act like she does! ]

The Jedi are Force-sensitive beings who are trained at an early age to use the Force for good. We're serve and protect anyone who cannot do it themselves and requires our help. Until recently, we were only peacekeepers in the galaxy. But the time period that I come from, a lot of us are being deployed as military generals.

You're going to ask about the Force next. It's an energy that surrounds all of us, it's within us. Those who are Force-sensitive can study it and be trained to use it.

[ Huh. That's surprisingly familiar. ]

Sounds kind of exactly like my job.

I wouldn't call it a job. Jedi live their whole lives according the Force. A job makes it sound so simple.

Do you mean your job here or back in your world?

[ Hmm. It sounds a little more like a religion when he puts it that way, but she's still pretty sure the type of energy he's describing is similar. ]

At home. But I use some of those skills here, too.

[ She lifts a hand to the camera and focuses her energy into it, making it glow a faint green color. ]

We call it chakra, but it's a lot like the energy you were describing. I use it to heal wounds.

[ Among other things, but the fact that she's a medic is public knowledge, so. ]

The Jedi have that as well; we can harness the Force to heal others or ourselves.

[ not that he's any good at it. ]

That's what it looks like when we focus our energy to heal. It doesn't always have to be visible like that, though.

[ She stops the focus and drops her hand, though ]

Not everyone can do the healing thing, though. It requires a lot of precision and focus.

I knew that the Force must be able to cross through worlds because I can still use it here but it's still pretty amazing to see it.

What's your world like? Do you know what your planet's called? Or the star system you're in?

Um ...

[ She looks a little sheepish. ]

Well, space travel hasn't been invented where I come from, so I don't really know anything like that. But I live in a military village, where we're trained to use those types of abilities proficiently from a young age. I work to defend the village and the country I live in as a medic for my team, and I also work part time in my family's flower shop.

[ He smiles, stiffly. ] That's very similar to what the Jedi are. Defenders of peace and justice. Younglings from all over the galaxy come to train at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

We don't get to stay with our families; that's the one thing I wish the Jedi had a choice in.

Oh ... really?

[ That's sad. She frowns. ]

It's ... a little different, where I come from. There's basic skills we learn in school, but most of us have another specialized way of using our energy that's passed down in our families. Since the way it's used is kept secret from others, the only way to learn it is from our own families. Taking us out of that environment would ... kind of defeat the purpose.

I'm ... sorry that's how it is for you guys, though. Are you still allowed to contact them?

[ A quiet sigh. He thinks about his mother for a moment and the bitterness comes out in his voice. ]

No. We're not. The Jedi aren't allowed any attachments, to material possessions or to people. Any kind of attachment can lead a Jedi down a dark path of fear, greed, anger and hate. We are forbidden to contact our families, though some do. With special permission.

[ A beat ]

I'm starting to like the sound of your world.

... Yeah, I don't mean to be rude, but I would go totally crazy without any of that. I mean, I can live without the material stuff, but my family and my friends -- no way. That's pretty intense.

[ She laughs a little. It's admirable that they go to such lengths to keep their skills strong, but at the same time -- so lonely. ]

I don't know how you guys feel about it, but a lot of people coming here find that the rules they adhered to at home are best left there.

[ Funny she should say that... He smiles a rueful smile. ]

I think that's a smart way to live. New worlds, new rules. New opportunities. I wish it didn't take coming here to have them.

Yeah, no kidding.

[ She sighs a little. ]

But, if there's one thing I've learned from being here it's that sticking to those types of things will make it very difficult for everyone to live together.

[ A wry grin ] Speaking from experience?

I haven't fared too badly, as far as my own personal morals go. But it becomes a problem when you throw a ton of people together and ask them to agree on certain things. Like how to deal with a criminal.

[ He snorts and shakes his head ]

I bet Atroma finds a lot of entertainment value in that.

Hasn't happened here yet, thankfully, but I'm sure they would.

[ Stupid Atroma. ]

Hopefully it won't, either.

Wouldn't it be better to leave it up to the Captains of the ship that a criminal is placed in?

They're the ones that are going to be affected the most.
