There's an odd sight on the Huntress today. The usually arrogant and loud mouthed Greed can be found in the cargo bay with his legs crossed and his eyes closed as he sits in meditation. There's a good reason for this, probably. Once interrupted, it will become incredibly clear why - it's not actually Greed.

B.)

But more in character is that Greed is up taking the morning shift on the bridge sitting his fine ass down in the captain's seat. Sure, there's extremely rarely any need for anyone to actually be up here when the ship is on autopilot, but he's not actually doing anything to command anyone just now - really he's just got his feet kicked up so he can browse through the media files on the communicator. After Ino introduced him to the fact there was erotica on there, he's eager to find out what other shit is available to him.

And then at the fine hour of six AM, suddenly Ke$ha suddenly is blaring over the entire ship when Greed decides to commandeer the currently empty comms station. It's not that he's trying to wake everyone up, it's just the speakers on the communicator are inadequate for a song like this. Sorry crewmates.

[Ahsoka has become a usual sight on the Huntress of late. With an extra pilot to cover her on the Starstruck and Obi-Wan on this ship, she comes and goes often as she pleases.

To her displeasure, though, she never seems to be able to catch Ling. As Ling had warned her last time they spoke, now that they're back in space, Greed seems to be hogging all the air time. Now that she can distinguish the two by their distinct Force signatures, she does her best to give Greed a wide berth whenever she's on the ship.

So when she senses Ling, she diverts her course to Obi-Wan's quarters and goes in search of him instead. Not wanting to interrupt his meditation, she simply sits herself down cross-legged in front of him quiet as you please and waits.]

[He's aware of her when she sits, though Ling is not quick to respond just yet. Ever since bonding with Greed, meditation is not easy. He had always been taught to find an inner calm no matter how tumultuous outside surroundings might be, but no one had ever taught him how to handle hundreds of souls swirling around him in constant despair and lost to reason and identity.

Greed's constant pestering about being bored didn't help either.

It just wasn't working. So, some seconds later, he opened one eye and turned his head to her.]

Back again, are we?

[resnipstance]

Yep!

... I'm sorry-- I didn't mean to disturb you. I can come back later, if you want.

[avaricious]

[He smiles - genuine for once.]

No worries, Ahsoka. I wasn't doing a very good job of it anyway. What brings you to the Huntress?

[resnipstance]

Same thing as always-- visiting Obi-Wan.

But I haven't seen you since Arslae, so... well, I thought I'd see how you're doing. You were right about not being allowed out much.

[avaricious]

[He nods.]

Greed is becoming more restless being stuck here. You might say this is his way of relaxing.

[Greed could backseat observe when Ling was in control. Because Ling was just an extremely chill guy, Greed got to get some of those calm vibes of his own. Ling was already getting more than his own hour deal that he'd negotiated before.]

[resnipstance]

You make it sound like he's a puppy who needs to be taken out for walks.

[She doesn't have to phrase it that way, but... well, put bluntly, she hopes it'll piss Greed off.]

[avaricious]

[Except pissing off Greed just means...

Well. Greed. Which has Ling's features contorting suddenly all at once to that similar but subtly different visage belonging to Greed.]

Only if you're offering, beautiful.

[resnipstance]

[GODDAMNIT.

Ahsoka's smiling face is instantly replaced by one of annoyance.]

I wasn't. Do you mind? I was having a conversation.

[avaricious]

[Ling pushes his way back into control. There's an obvious amount of effort going into that. It's easy when he and Greed just switch back and forth - but it takes effort to force Greed back out.]

... it would be better if you didn't antagonize him. [For Ling's sake, if nothing else.]

... Sorry. I can't help it-- how do you live with that guy? He drives me nuts!

As I've said before - I need him. I've accepted his presence as a necessary sacrifice.

[Pfft. You make me sound like a rash. And don't just go kicking me out like that, you brat.

Ling smiles weakly.] ... though he doesn't care much for being described that way.

Hey.

[These are two heeled feet coming to a stop right in front of you, Ling. Nami looms, arms crossed.]

I need to talk to you.

[avaricious]

[He was so close to achieving a kind of inner peace separate from all those wailing souls but - well, interruptions. It was impossible to find alone time on this ship.

He lets out a sigh and speaks up in a voice altogether unlike Greed's.]

Yes? Is there something you need me for?

[With the hot mess your ship is, man, you may never get alone time again.

Nami hasn't spoken to Greed long enough to spot the difference, at least not straight away. But though abrupt, she's not particularly mad at him or anything. Just... well, their last conversation ended on a sour note, and this is important.]

Yeah. You need to tell Koala she needs to relax on the pinball thing.

[avaricious]

[Ling only takes it in stride. He's not terribly worried about Koala given the utter magnitude of everything else that is going on, but he's been observing enough to agree with her.]

I think it's become a bad habit for many members of this crew.

[Ling speaks of Greed - his counterpart has spent way too long with that game.]

[That isn't the kind of response Nami was expecting. He's way laid back. She blinks, peering down at him.

...maybe she caught him in a bad mood the other day. So she's a little softer.]

People like us might get caught up in a game, but that's our own fault. She used to be a slave. The poor kid thinks if she doesn't get a score you approve of soon you're gonna toss her out the airlock.

She's playing until she almost passes out. [Probably not almost.]

[Ling tilts his head with evident concern.]

Well that's unfortunate. She seemed really eager to play the game. It's a shame she's only playing out of duty.

[Yet he somehow manages to make it sound like it's completely out of his hands.]

Whether or not she likes the game, she's overdoing it! [Hey look, the snap is back in her voice.] Slaves in our world are killed out of hand for even the slightest perceived wrongdoing!

You can't give her orders like that even if you mean well. If you're really worried about her welfare, fix it.

[Just being honest here. Greed's gonna do what Greed's gonna do, you know?]
