[The kitchen is a warzone. Flour hangs suspended in the air and covers everything. There are smears and splatters of chocolate sauce on every flat surface.

Undyne ditches the bowl of cream she was making to rescue her project from the oven. When she pulls out the baking sheet, her cookies appear to be perfect. She shrugs and sets them on the countertop... where they promptly burst into flame for no reason.

She just stares.]

... Seriously?

[There's a lot of new people on the ship and Undyne is still getting acquainted with some of her shipmates. The best way to make friends, she's found, is to beat them up. To that end, she's approaching random people and asking them if they want to arm-wrestle.

Considering she is the one who tied boulders to her barbells in the recreation room, accepting the offer is probably not a good idea.]

She'll just sneak over and start very gingerly wiping off flour from the wall.]

[She dumps the cookies into the sink in order to quell the fire. That disaster averted, she looks back and... sees Koala touching the wall.

Undyne zooms over, looming above her.]

Are you here to get a drink? I sure hope so.

[She's smiling so hard it looks dangerous.]

H— Um!! I g-guess I am rather thirsty!

[WAS THAT A GOOD ENOUGH SAVE?!]

[She knows what Koala is trying to do. Very carefully, she picks all of Koala up (with one hand...) and sits her down on the nearest bench.]

Do you want tea? Coffee? Soda?

[SHE REALLY SHOULD ANTICIPATE THESE EVENTS MORE EASILY.

Though she's less afraid this time — and just startled like a deer in headlights.]

[ once things have . . . calmed down . . . reasonably enough that Obi-Wan feels he can leave without something imploding on him, he searches for her. With him is his new bo staff. ]

Still up for a spar?

[She checks out the staff and nods approvingly.]

Hell yes!! I hope that beard is good for wiping the floor!

[beardstrokes]

Please try not to kill me.

[ He holds his staff in front of him, defensive position. Soresu would work better, but without a proper blade, it won't work. ]

Fuhuhuhu!! I'd never try to kill you. Unless you betrayed me, anyway.

[She doesn't have a staff, but she can conjure a teal spear with her magic and does so. The effect is basically the same. However, the pointy bit might be a problem, so she just... reaches up and breaks it off. It disappears as it hits the ground.

Now they're even.

She doesn't assume a defensive position so much as a ready one. She's on the balls of her feet, arms loose, staring right at him.]

[beardstrokes]

[ He exhales. He is the Force. A vessel of light. ]

[That's all she needs to hear. Her serious face is terrifying enough to send most fully-grown men running: a crazy grin and a wild eye. She zips forward at alarming speed with the grace of a big cat, improvised staff already swinging to tag him on his left shoulder.

She is stupidly strong. Though she's holding back, it might be difficult for him to hold a parry for too long.]

visiting - A

["Check out the cook" Mikleo had said. Called herself a monster, could see him, rang all the bells for 'hellion' except the most obvious one: an assload of malevolence. Sorey isn't really looking for a witch hunt, but if Mikleo is concerned then it's his duty as Shepard to check this out.

He pokes his head into the kitchen. ...wow this is not great. This looks even worse than when he tries to make cookies.]

Do you need help with that fire? [cause like there is a lot of it]

[fishwife]

Huh? [She's never seen this kid before.] Nah, I've got it handled! It's just a little fire.

[As she smiles at him, something else on the counter catches on fire. It's spreading. God help us all.]

Actually, that looks like a lot of fire. I'm just gonna- excuse me. [He's gonna just grab a nearby tablecloth and just. Try to smother this- how did this plastic bowl catch on fire, it is plastic there was fire nowhere else around it]

I'm Sorey! [he calls over his frantically cheerful damage control] What's your name!

[fishwife]

... Actually, you're right. Crap!

[He's got the tablecloth so she goes for filling the nearest pot full of water. She yells back over the rush of the faucet.]

Undyne! It's nice to meet you!

[She tosses the water onto the fire, which... seems to help, but it's not quite enough so back to the sink she goes.]

I swear I'm not a bad cook! I'm just occasionally bad!

That's okay! [The fire is kinda going out, though the tablecloth is really starting to stink up the room because it's partially that shitty vinyl crap. At least the fire is going out though, that's the important thing.] One time? I was trying to make ice cream and it came out black. It was vanilla! How does a person make vanilla ice cream turn black?

[uh okay the tablecloth is smoking, he's just gonna- excuse, he's just gonna shove this into the sink also]

[She dumps more water on the fire, which is now officially out. The kitchen's full of black smoke though and... well, Koala's probably going to cry again.]

I'm more of a hot food person. I even had my fridge modified so it'd keep food warm instead of cold! I miss it.

[She glances back at Sorey.]

Thanks for helping with the fire! Are you new to the crew or just visiting?

You know what though? They are smudged and the room stinks and is a complete mess and there is nothing edible in here but they are alive. And Sorey can find the silver lining on a goddamn tornado, so he's going to count this as a tentative success.]

Just visiting! Do you know Mikleo? He's new crew, and he's a friend of mine from home.

[... Yes. Yes it is. Or maybe like those hot racks they have in convenience stores that keep things warm. She switches on the kitchen fan so at least the smoke can begin to clear out.]

Oh, Mikleo! The seraph! He ought to be a monster like me, but he looks like a human. Pretty interesting, huh?

[She's ... honestly cut from the same cloth as Sorey in some ways, so she just grins and holds out her hand for a shake.]

Does he always worry so much?

[Sorey recoils on reflex at her calling Mikleo a monster, but the way she says it...]

Yeah, he can sometimes. [he leans over to grab her hand and give it a shake. he's getting lots of practice with that] So, that's what your people are called? Monsters?

[fishwife]

Yep! Humans live on the surface, and monsters lived underground. Until recently, anyway. [She waves a hand.] Long story.

I still get screamed at sometimes, but it's not that bad. The surface is awesome enough to make up for it!
