[ Well, she was just visiting to drop off some things for Sasuke, but while she's here, she might be snooping around just a little. She hasn't been on this ship before, so it's kind of interesting.

But she happens across this, and ... hey, that's kind of cool. She wonders if she could get this guy to make Nightingale a staff, too. ]

[ He swings it a bit, testing the grip. ]

It's been a long time since I've done this.

Made a staff? Or used one?

[ She watches how he's testing it carefully. He seems pretty adept at it, anyways. ]

Both, actually. My weapon of choice is slightly more elegant. And useful.

This will have to do, though. I rather not deal with swords and blasters. I find them rather uncouth.

[ She raises her eyebrows. ]

Must be some weapon if you think swords are uncouth.

[ She may have a short sword on her back. Not that she's really personally attached to it or offended by his opinion or anything, it's just that most people seem to consider the sword the most elegant of weapons. ]

It is known as the lightsaber. It mimics the sword in many ways, but it allows us to move it like one of our own hands. It moves with us, in feeling and in danger.

[ It's why Obi-Wan stresses keeping it close. There's no other weapon that's quite so intuitive to their powers and abilities. ]

... Huh. You know, I think I remember seeing someone arriving here and complaining that a weapon like that was missing. So it's like a sword, but made of light?

In a manner of speaking, yes.

[ Someone complaining about it. ]

It must have been one of the Jedi. Anakin or Ahsoka, certainly.

[ She lights up in recognition. ]

Oh! You know those two?

Yes I . . . was their teacher.

[ Not a very good one, in his mind. ]

I take it you know them as well.

[ He does look like a sensei type to Ino. He's got a beard and everything. ]

Ahsoka came to the girls sleepover party awhile back and we talked about color theory. I just met Anakin a few days ago. He was telling me about "The Force".

Yes, that's a common topic that comes up in conversations lately. Since it is a large part of our lives, we have to explain its existence a lot.

[ He's kind of tired of it. ]

[ She laughs a little, because ... boy, does she feel that. ]

He didn't have to explain much. It sounds pretty similar to something where I come from. So really, it was mostly me doing the explaining.

What do you mean?

[ What did she explain? ]

He was just asking about the types of things I'm able to do with my energy.

[ She'll hold up a hand like she did for Anakin, focusing her chakra into her palm the way she does when she's preparing to heal someone. So her hand is glowing a faint green. ]

I'm a healer, so I was showing him what it looks like when I focus to do something like that.

Fascinating. A lot of people seem to be using their own energy in creative ways. We sort of tap into the energy of the galaxy to use instead.

Yeah, it's a lot of different names and sources, but it all boils down to something pretty similar.

[ She'll stop focusing her chakra like that, though, letting her hand drop down to her side ]

But that's what's kind of cool about a place like this? Even though we're all from different planets and universes and stuff, we still have a lot in common.

Yes, it certainly makes for interesting discourse and discussion.

[ He wonders if they have a library here. Perhaps he could bring some materials back, for Master Jocasta. ]

[ Something tells her he doesn't seem all that enthused about the discussion, but then again, she gets tired of explaining chakra and all that, too. ]

So -- are you going to spar someone with that? [ She points to the staff. ] Or is it just for self-defense?

Both, actually.

[ It helps to have a weapon in hand. ]

It's something non-lethal but enough to give me an edge in a fight.

Yeah, that's true. Though you can definitely get a nasty bruise getting hit in the face with one of those.

[ She grins. ]

Are you sparring one of your students, then?

No. They really don't need the letdown.

I will be sparring with one of the crewmembers at some point. She asked and I saw no reason to refuse her.

[ Undyne will kick his ass. ]

Ehh? Have the students surpassed their teacher?

[ She looks a little amused ]

Well, I'm sure it'll be entertaining.

Hardly.

[ And they probably won't. ]

Hopefully it'll go well with minimal injuries.

[ She has to laugh at the "Hardly" comment ...

But oh, now she's wondering. ]
