back where i was before, people used to ask stuff like this all the time. it's a good way to learn about people.

well, the trick about these sorts of questions that i've noticed is that people usually only ask them if they'd answer yes themselves.

That is very true. But I have a feeling you would agree that there are things to be learned about someone in the manner they answer with. For instance, the fact that I prompted you to answer first suggests that I might be a very careful person. And the manner in which you're answering makes me guess that while you might not be proud of your kills, you aren't especially ashamed of them either. So, it's worth it to ask, even if I can already guess at the answer.

that's exactly why i asked. i think it's also interesting that you are the first person who's contacted me privately. that says a whole lot about you. not that you're ashamed or need someone to talk to, but that you like to gloat, i think, about the kind of person you are - how you're different from other people.

It also says that I am picky about who I care to gloat to. I don't bother to mind the impression I make with just anyone, you know. If I really wanted attention, I would have left my response public. And you like to gloat too, I see.

it's not even liking gloating for me, really, it's just something i have to do. i have to practice it. i used to be really bad at it, i wanted everyone to see me a certain way, so i didn't want to be anything but normal. now i know i can't be.

Though, isn't practicing gloating done for the same sort of reason? Now you just want everyone to see a different face. Or, isn't it like that at all?

I see. Your honesty is refreshing. And the answer to the first part is obviously a yes, but I'm unsure how to answer the second. I suppose it depends on your definition of the concept.

it's hard to define. that feeling like the inside of your chest is on fire because you did something amazing. what comes after adrenaline, before exhaustion.

that's how i would define pride.
